Bathing the Kitten
Chapter 1 of 1
blue artemisWhat the title says. Severus and Hermione are in an established relationship.
ReviewedWritten for liagiba84's picture prompt #16.
Hermione was sitting quietly in the big chair in front of the fire in the quarters she shared with Severus when all of a sudden she heard a crash, followed by: "Blasted kitten! Get out of here before I turn you into fertilizer!"
Hermione got up quickly and walked to the door of the lab. She almost managed to stifle her laughter at what she saw. There was Severus, standing in a large pile of goo, with two overturned cauldrons; in his hands was a small tri-colored, quarter-kneazle kitten, covered in slime from head to toe.
She tiptoed around the mess, walked up to her husband, and reached out for the small beast.
"I'll take care of this, love," Hermione said to Severus quietly.
She took the kitten over to the sink, filled the sink with warm water, got a gentle cleaning potion, and very gently washed it clean. The kitten looked very unimpressed with the whole thing.
Hermione looked at the small, wet, bedraggled creature and giggled.
"You know, you wouldn't need so many baths if you would just stay out of the lab."

Too cute, the kitten is lucky too have Hermione to wash him off, I doubt if Severus would be so gentle.

He probably would have cast some scouring spell at him.
I KNEW that I'd read this before! Poor kitten. Maybe he likes Severus... Awww... Severus has a little friend!

Thanks for sharing this little slice of life. I know, I know it's just a drabble.... but not a lot going on is there? SSHG + Kitten? Is this a scene from something longer? I just don't get the point.

There was a photo prompt on LJ, and it had a kitten right out of a bath. This was what I wrote for the photo. SS/HG is established and the kitten is just a bit bratty. Thanks for the review.
And he thought Neville was a menace! lol

Kittens have an uncanny ability to be in the wrong place at the wrong time! Of course, sometimes you just can't help but laugh... one time years ago, I walked into the kitchen to find our new kitten standing in the middle of the pizza box (on top of several slices) methodically eating the cheese off of them. When I yelled at her, she just looked up at me with this totally bewildered expression on her face. She obviously had no idea what she had done wrong, and remembering that look still makes me grin to this day.I'll bet quarter-Kneazles get into even more trouble.

Bwah ha ha ha ha! I can just picture your kitten on the pizza with the confused look on her face. Thanks for the review!
uh-oh.Hermione is absolutely right. A Kitten and a laboratory? never go together well.A wonder Severus didn't hex the poor nosy creature long time ago.

Hey, Blue! It's Velvet (English Snow Rose). This is too cute! The kitten looked very unimpressed with the whole thing. That is the most hilarious line that I've ever read. Great job!

Thanks! I'm glad you told me who you were. I do follow you through your name changes, so I will file this away. Thanks for reading some of my stuff!
Response from ContessaPella (Reviewer)
Yeah... Sorry. Luckily, when I would change names before, it was just names, but with this being a seperate account, I figured that I should "introduce" myself. LOL!
