I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

And I love your user name!!!  Thank you!  I'm a sucker for zee happee endeeng.  Real life is sad enough.  I want my fics to be happy little things.  Of course, the road to the end might be bumpy, but... things always work out.

You demonstrate his devotion once more.  Very nicely done.  This time I didn't get teary eyed until the author's notes and your mention of  "The Notebook."  *sigh*

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

Mmm, heartwrenching movie, huh?  I think Severus has shown he's the kind who doesn't run when the going gets tough.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

Me?  A Drama-queen?  I think you've hit the nail right on the head.  Glad you liked it and found it tantalizing!

I'm really happy it ended well. Gosh though, throwing up 10 times a day? I hope it gets better for her.Anyway, I also think we all wish for what you spoke of. And literature and fanfiction are places to express those wishes. Perhaps giving words to them will help them come true. I'm an idealist at heart. :)

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

My first pregnancy was much like this.  And the throwing up lasted for six months.  Then it was dry heaves right up until I had her.  Thankfully medication was plentiful for my other two children, because I could tell the nausea was worse for each one before I started medicating.  I too am an idealist at heart.  I like my own little fantasy world.

Good heavens, you had me seriously scared here!!! Lovely, though, what with the happy ending. :D

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

LOL. I'm glad I had you guessing. Thanks, LITC.

Nice!  I liked it! Well done! As for writing happy endings, I have a very decided opinion: you do  not owe an apology for writing one.  Life does not always supply happy endings, so we must rely on fiction for them.  They give us hope, which is critical to the daily trudge.  I think that in many ways the fictional happy ending is second only to faith in terms of hope.  (The Notebook was truly a beautiful story, and while it ended in death, it was not necessarily sad.  They were together until the very end, and in the end she knew him very well.  I cannot hope for a better end, myself.)I hope you keep writing these happy endings.  My life has enough drama and tragedy without having to read it in my recreational reading.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

I too agree about real life. I liked what you wrote about faith and the hope that both fiction and faith brings. I never thought about it like that! But it's very true. As for me, I think that life is rough enough, so my fictions better be happy. LOL. I do read the occasional sad story, but some of them disturb me quite a bit and leave me 'thinking' about them for days after I've read them. I'd rather dwell on the happy stuff.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I really love the movie, The Notebook, but it always makes me bawl. The ending is happy in the fact that they go together and don't have to suffer life without the other. But the whole loss of her memory thing just breaks my heart. I think it's something that is a serious fear and really hits home in the "Could that happen to me?" category.

Ooh I was hoping that's what it was. Bravo!

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

Yes, it was. But she's having a rough go of it, and with her history of course she was scared.

*Sniff*  This had me just about in tears.  Kudos for the happy ending though, lol.  I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall to witness Severus' reaction to the news.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

Aw, sorry.  *Tissue?*  I was in tears writing it.  I debated showing their reactions, but decided to leave it private.  Tee hee.

Good lord, get that woman an IV and a sammich. :D I figured she was preggo :)

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

The problem is, she won't keep it down.  Poor thing.

Hee.  I kind of figured what was wrong when you started with the symptoms, but I liked the way you played it out.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

LOL.  I knew those would probably give it away, but, you know...  We sometimes feel we're dying when it's just a silly head cold.  So, why not this.

I love this! And don't ever apologize for a happy ending.  After all, doesn't "real life" give us enough of those "realistic" endings?  In fanfiction, we should all be able to create, and live in for a while, the world the way our hearts know it "should" be.Thanks for giving me another moment of "the way it should be."

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

These are my sentiments exactly.  I think that's why I can't write a sad ending.  There's enough sadness in real life. And truly, in a perfect world, this is how it should be for everyone, not just one or two couples.

Ooh, debjunk, I was verging on tears until the Healer was a bit of a smartass and then I let out my breath! Very good :)

Author's Response: Thanks!  That's kind of what I was shooting for.

snitchette

I thought so from the beginning but there's no way to be sure with these two. I'm glad for the happy ending.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

I figured it would be somewhat obvious to some.  But, as you said, you never know.

I was worried for Hermione and Severus there for a sec. Glad she's having a baby and not dying. I think he would lose it if she died on him.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

I think you're right.  Severus doesn't deserve to lose it.  He deserves only happiness.

I knew it! Ofcourse is she pregnant. And ofcourse will Severus stay with her ;)

EverMystique

LOL. I had a good idea that would be the outcome. Very nice set up.

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

Thank you! Yes, it's kind of hard to hide the symptoms of pregnancy. These were a bit extreme though. I went through much the same with my three kids, just not the idea that I was dying. Although at times...

No sad endings!  What's-Her-Face already ruined that for Snape.  *cuddles Snape in the effort to make up for it*  Happy endings only!  (With lots of smut, a smart gal to snuggle with, and happy endings.)Happy endings.  Like this one.~Lotmwho still lives in the happy land of denial, aka hasn't read book 7 and never will, lalalalala, not liiiisteniiiing...!

Response from debjunk (Author of Illness)

LOL.  You didn't miss much, let me tell you.  Oh, wait, you're not listening.  Yeah, happy endings are my weak-spot, especially when it comes to Snape.Good ol' What's-her-Face can kick herself in her million-dollar butt.

Response from ladyofthemasque (Reviewer)

...She let down her readers by letting down her writing standards.  That's an unforgivable sin in my book.  (Personally, I take neurotic/paranoid pains to put out a good quality book, and I definitely don't slack off at the end of a series!  *harrumphf!*)*cuddles Snape some more, even though he's just about to the squirming-to-get-free/enough-already-dammit stage*~Lotm
