Mollyssister just reminded me of this while we were discussing a food p0rn quiz. I'm glad she did! While the food is central and quite erotically done, the story as a whole is quite compelling. It's refreshing to see two war weary survivors able to open up to each other. There's a little too much "happily ever after" in most post war fanfic. It's nice to see the reality of Hermione's need to flee."It was all too much, the stories in the papers, the ceremonies and balls, constantly being asked to relive the worst time of my life.”That line sums it all up rather nicely! It's a sentiment that rings completely true for both Hermione and Severus.

Thank you so much! I think it so important to show how survivors manage to survive the aftermath of war, as well. It's not that I think happily ever after is out of reach, but I do believe it takes a bit of time and effort to arrive there. I'm really glad you enjoyed the story.
That was truly lovely. In reading the reviews, I noticed your comment on how people seem to disregard how damaged everyone would be after the war. I tend to agree. However, I must guiltiy admit that I often appreciate stories that mention the damage without wallowing in it. I think you do that rather effectively here.Well done and thanks for posting!

Interesting you should say that. Many of the folks I've known who have come back from war hold their memories and pain apart, only really letting it out when they're around people who would "know." I thought both Severus and Hermione would be that sort of person.Thank you for your insightful review. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and respond.

Beautiful. I hope he'll come back back to hear the end of the "requiem".On another note, I've noticed a lot of stories dedicated to Lady Karelia recently. I've beginning to get worried and I hope nothing bad happened to her because your last words really frightened me.

Or perhaps that she would stop hiding.There is absolutely nothing wrong with Lady Karelia. These stories were written as part of a Live Journal surprise to thank her for doing so much for the fandom. I absolutely adored this. It's well-paced, the dialogue is totally believable, and it present Severus and Hermione the way I love them best-mature, thoughtful, calm. It at least offers the promise of happiness for both of them, especially Severus. I firmly believe that the HERO deserves the happy ending most, and this is definitely heading in that direction.Brava!Fizzabella

I found this by hitting "Random Story" in the menu. I don't yet know when it was originally posted.Sounds like just the way our mysterious potions professor would approach Miss Granger, not letting on until the very end... Although I imagine that kiss could be more of a beginning instead.Beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
