Snape fancier, wanton researcher of the arcane and sublime, and snark mistress.
Blanket disclaimer: the Potterverse was created by J.K. Rowling -- I just like to play with her toys.

I read this on another website last night and failed to comment. The Frog Prince was always one of my favorite fairy tales, and I am very please with what you've done with it.

A very lovely fairy tale. Love the ending especially!

Thank you! :D
I only read a couple of fairy tales when I was child and really disliked them. If only the Brothers Grimm had written stories like yours. It's just wonderful.

Just one thing I do wonder---How DID the school--and Severus--originally become cursed? Who done it? I may have missed it in the story, but the only hint I see was this statement by Frog-Severus:"Clearly the seeds of my research fell into skilled enough hands to make sense of them and, it appears, make alterations. If the changes I suspect have been made, then this first stage is hardly the worst of what lies before them.”
that was so entirely delightful! as i was reading this i kept imagining shelly duvall's frog prince with robin williams in the title role. thanks so much for sharing your splendid vision

Thank YOU! :)
I almost skipped over this one, but something told me to check it out. I'm so glad I did. What a wonderful and witty story!Of course I could just imagine a snarky smirking frog. I love frogs, by the way, and would have had no trouble agreeing to his demands!Great job!

I'm so pleased to read that - thank you for such a lovely review! :)
*smile* This was lovely. And it makes me realize I'm not sure I know all my fairytales. Because the reference of "Third time lucky, third time’s the charm" doesn't ring any bells in me.I also want to add that I loved the illustrations you provided with the story itself. They're gorgeous.

Thank you! :) And this is a compilation of details from the frog/well trope - it's not a retelling of only one version of it. References to three tries is folk saying, as is much of fairytales. I can't name exactly which tales I'd encountered it in before (I've read a lot of folk/fairytales from many cultures over a lot of years!), but I have seen it.
That was one of the cutest, sweetest stories I have ever read. Well done! Awesome retelling :)
