known as Coco; also bella, gildedglamour on LJ, etc.
i'm a great many things, including:
indian & burmese
a proud harpy
a little crazy
creative and lovable... most of the time!
always vanishing at inappropriate times thanks to that dreaded 'RL'
really bad at updating regularly
apparently 'elegant', probably really not.
i like writing, slytherin men, writing about slytherin men... oh and reviews too.
:]
REGARDING ALL THAT'S LEFT
In case you were wondering why it vanished off the face of the earth, not to worry. It's undergoing a significant bit of revision, but it'll be back eventually. It'll probably be under a different name, too, but the premise will largely be the same. Thanks to everyone who supported me through it; I just wanted to make a few changes but it'll be back, I promise.
Reviews for chai
I happen to live in a pretty mixed community ... we have a pretty fair sized Indian and Sikh communities, especially on the west side of town, so some of what you describe is somewhat familiar. I love the details you gave this story, it's almost like you could taste and smell what you were describing. But I especially enjoyed Severus and Hermione's unexpected meeting and how things changed so quickly from "Oh no!" to "I hope he/she feels the same way".Lovely story, I enjoyed it very much!

Thank you! I'm glad that it was able to evoke the senses, that really makes me happy :) I'm always curious about how other people react to things like this where I'm talking about sights and smells and sounds totally natural to me, and I wonder how they communicate to others, so thank you for letting me know!
I liked this. I could hear the sounds and taste the chai as I read. Please write a sequel, or another story set in India?
Response from bellarossi (Author of chai)
I'm glad you liked it! I might just do another one set in India, though perhaps a different part :) I personally love Goa but I had to write about my hometown for this prompt.I'm thinking of doing a kind of travel series, actually, as people really seem to like Chai and Sandalwood. I'm lucky enough to be able to travel a lot and see places few others here would, and I thought it would be really nice to bring those experiences to my readers through my stories. I just recently visited Indonesia and there's a ficlet in the making (in my mind, anyway) along the lines of Chai and Sandalwood. :)
Mmm, very nice. I especially liked them kissing in front of everyone and the comments.

Haha thanks :)
This was wonderful! Your description of sounds and smells brought me right into the story, so much more than any visual description could have. The chaos, the noise, the business and the kaleidoscope of humanity represented in the backdrop to this story really made it come alive. In the last few years I've been coming across more and more stories about and set it India, and each one make me want to see it more.

thank you so much! i'm really glad i was able to bring it alive for you, i was really hoping that would happen :) so that's brilliant to hear. i do hope you get to visit india someday! it's a really beautiful place overall and there's so much to see, even i've barely scratched the surface! i've only really been to a couple places and most of them when i was quite young (i have never lived in india) but someday i hope to travel all around india and really experience it fully. :)
Your details were magnificent. It felt like I was there with them. I love happy endings, too. Great work.

thank you very much :) i'm so glad it came alive for you.
Now I want some chai. Lots of it. And there's not much of a Bengali community where I live (and no Indian community, for that matter). I'll simply have to use your recipe and pray for the best.
This was delicious. Thanks for writing!
Response from bellarossi (Author of chai)
thanks so much! chai is yummy :) haha i hope the recipe works. i haven't personally tried it as i only ever drink it when i go back to my old neighbours' house where i first drank it :P i guess it's one of those traditions you keep for the sake of it. let me know how it turns out!
I enjoyed your story with its wry humor very much. It was quite educational, too! My father had been India for quite a bit during WWII and told me many stories about it. Then I fell in love with tigers! So, I've wanted to visit India for years now and now feel even more inspired. Thanks for your work!
Response from bellarossi (Author of chai)
i really hope you are able to visit it someday :) it is an amazing place. (i like tigers too!) i'm glad you were able to learn something new, too. thank you very much for reviewing :)
I very much enjoyed this fleeting glimpse of a meeting between Hermione and Severus. The voice in which you write and describe is very elegant and your dialogue is spot on as well. I will be looking for other pieces of your. Thanks very much for the enjoyment.
Response from bellarossi (Author of chai)
thank you so much! i hope you enjoy my other stories. sandalwood is very similar to this one, i think you would like it! :)
This was such a cool story, it not only had Severus and Hermione action but gave a good glimpse into another culture. I can see them both needing to get away after LV's demise. It would be crazy there and I just can't see Hermione romantically involved with Ron. Very well written, loved it.
Response from bellarossi (Author of chai)
thank you! gah i hate ron/hermione it's just so wrong on so many levels. i guess jkr ruined it for me as well so that doesn't help haha. so i take refuge in sshg and dramione :P
Wonderful!!!!!
