Variety Challenge first runner up. Hermione Granger is given a Time-Turner and instructions to use it. Only, using a Time-Turner can be a little tricky if not used correctly: a mistake made in counting or a slip of fingers can make the user jump irregularly and thus she could accidentally alter her time line. And when such an accident happens, Severus Snape uses Hermione’s Time-Turner in order to fix a horrific wrong. However, it’s his younger self that becomes the one who must ensure that history is not altered.

Sirius and James are really not very likeable. I can see why Harry is so disappointed with them. Seems like he pretty much spoke only to Lily and Remus at the end of DH, though I could be wrong about that. James, where ever he's at, must be sick when he thinks about Harry finding out about how he treated Severus and what Harry really thinks about it. Excellent chapter, I enjoyed seeing how sweetly Severus is taking care of Hermione.

Well, in all fairness, you are seeing them from Severus' POV in this story and he doesn't like them. It's like judging Professor Snape soley on how Harry sees him - evil, horrible guy with no redeeming charateristics (until book 7 when he realizes he was wrong.) There is a bit of Remus and Lily interactions throughout this story, but very little. This is Sev's sixth year, and his relationship with the Gryffindor four have never been good, as far as I interpret canon. At least not until Lily gets with James and he backs off Severus. (seventh year) What's big is that Hermione is seeing the results of Severus' conflicts with James and Sirius. hint hint. Thank you for the review and the prety stars.
Severus ditching his 'friends' and making excuses about his whereabouts to go and see Hermione?!? Sounds like he's becoming quite fond of the young lady. He has to be gobbling up all of her gentle touches and the care, concern and adoration she shows for him. It's more than just gratitude for hiding her. Hmmm... now about that Hogsmeade trip...Another perfectly lovely chapter, Mystery Author. :D

Besides, he has to spend time with her to keep her 'locked up' in that small classroom, right. it's a duty to keep her occupied until he has to send her back. Right? Hmmm a dancig scene! hmmm. LOL Yes, they are and it's so much fun to write these interactions. Yes, the guys are noticing that Severus isn't hanging around, and the way I see it Avery (in particular) is prob wondering if he's depressed or regressing... I mean, I'd notice if one of my friends started to pull back into themselves. Only Avery doesn't know why - he's assuming. But yes, that's a huge potential problem. More will come, and then the answer chapter! #9.

This story is fun. However, I wonder why Hermione is allowed to keep the time turner. She is not being responsible since she keeps going back in time. So far, damage to the timeline seems has been avoided, but why keep risking it? Especially when all that needs to be done is to take away her timeturner.

What a shame he couldn't risk taking her to Hogsmeade; it would have done them both some good. He seemed really pleased that she would take the time to make the slotted spoon for him. He's clearly not used to such a kindness.It's good that he has her to talk with, sometimes I get the feeling that she is helping him just as much as he is helping her. I'm so glad I started reading this fantastic story! I can't wait to see the next part. :D

Hogsmeade. Hmmmm. lol Severus isn't used to getting gifts for no reason, just given for the sake of being given. So yes, he's really touched by it. And yes, it's always good to have someone to talk to, another thing Severus isn't used to. Talking to Hermine isn't like talking to one of his dorm mates, she isn't looking for the 'angle' or how to use it or anything. Just showing him that the truth would be best. I'm glad that you are enjoying this story. Next will be submitted soon.
Their friendship doesn't seem to be affected by each others absence. They don't seem awkward around each other at all. Hermione's appreciation for all the things Young Severus did to make her living there more comfortable is nice to see (so is his reaction to her response). Great chapter! :D

Nope, it's like a friend that lives far away but visits every once in a while. lol It could be awkward if he wasn't trying so had to appease her so she'd cooperate and stay in the small classroom. but yes, Professor Snape and Severus' providing her a 'bedroom area' would have been something Hermione would have seen as 'real effort for her comfort' Who woudldn't appreciate that. and Severus isn't used to 'thankyous' so he's soaking this up, even if he doesn't know it. Diaries to keep, a girl to hide, and a future to save - no wonder young Severus grumbles when mature Severus shows up! And I love how he argues with his older self about any potion related advice! Teenagers!!! LOLHermione's time travels are getting very interesting and scary to say the least, but I am so glad that she is returning to the past in a few days. I like seeing her with him in his student years!!! :D

Yes, it's a bit for a young guy to take and a lot to deal with. I hope the chapter wasn't too confusing, a lot is explained in chapter 9 (which will be posted eventually) Hermione's bounces back in time are not exactly a few days apart, but by keeping the diary, Severus will know when to expect her. and yes, I have a total of 5 bounces back in time planned, including the one from chap 1.
I don't like the fact that Avery is paying attention to Severus' comings and goings. I hope that he doesn't catch on. And I agree, if Hermione was a few years older and staying in young Severus' time, she would definitely be someone for him to get to know. They're kindred. Great chapter. :D

. Avery, like any friend would, is noticing the absencces, that Severus seems to have become reclusive, so he's trying to reach out in case Severus is 'pulling away' for some reason. Only a natural responce. But yes, you'll see him again. ANd Yes, if I had put Hermione and Severus in the same year - smooching would happen! lol
Great chapter! I loved the part about young Severus being concerned about what Hermione's taste in reading material might be. If she only knew that he thought her the Harlequin Romance type, she'd Hex him to London and back! :D

I really love this story. I love the friendship that has started developing between Severus and Hermione. She is his secret, his place to retreat to. They have so much in common and yet are so differentI look forward to discovering what happens with them in the future. Possibly love? or least a closer relationship. One can only hope.

I think it's interesting that as things change, Severus becomes aware of them. You'd think that because this is the 'future' he'd know it all at once.

I didn't want to go that route. It made this chapter dificult and confusing, (I'm so happy you seemed to pick up on the changing I put in there). But IMHO once the decision was made the action became a 'did' rather than a 'should' and thus was reaffirmed by Severus knowing that it had. I know = confusing. Many of the questions get answered in a later chapter once Hermione returns from the bounce back. Thank you for reading and the review.
Well, now they get to spend more time together. Hopefully, that will be a good thing.

This is most enjoyable - I'm fond of stories where they brew and study together. The idea of Severus thinking of touristy things to do in a time period which will vanish is very good. Normally time-turner fics make Hermione the same age as Severus in the past - this age disparity is an interesting challenge. Looking forward to more.

Brena, I'm so sorry. I think it's chapter 9 when she returns and has to answer to Dumbledore about what happened, as does Snape. So some of the confusion will be explained. Every confusing bit, all but two things. But that's the best I could do. LOL There is loads of teenSeverus and Hermione interaction coming up. Some Lily and Severus too.
