I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

How absolutely beautiful. God! A thought just struck me. She thought these were dreams first, and it was really him all along. Maybe she's already pregant with their child. That would be the cherry ont the icing on the cake. *grin*

Thanks! Well, her being pregnant is a possibility, I guess! I think they'd both be happy with that outcome. I'm not quite sure that a corporeal spirit can impregnate someone, though. If not, I'm sure a kid's not too far off in the future. Ah, the pitter-patter of little Snapes.
Nice plot and soooo romantic. You made the prompt work really well!!

Thank you so much! We all need a little fluff now and then.
That is a very beautiful way for Severus to have been saved. I can't imagine Hermione's grief and the horror of watching him die. I'm glad she had something to keep her busy, that is searching for the potion. I would have loved to know how she got away to do the searching. I would like to know what some of the places she searched were like and if she had any adventures? Was Seveus able to come to her if she was away searching for the potion? So, I am assuming Severus was a ghost that could visit Dumbledore's picture. Correct? Did Dumbledore tell Severus about the potion so that Severus could tell Hermione? This story reminds me of one of the saddest movies I've ever seen. It was the original The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, made in 1947. She was a single woman with childern in 1900 who moved into a house haunted by a charming Sea Captin. They argued, became friends, then fell in love. After a time, that stupid man decided for her own good to make her forget him so that she could go on and find a live man to love. Instead, she spent the rest of her long life knowing something or someone was missing and she could not move on. She just got older and stayed lonely, living in that house, until she died and he finally came for her at the end. And he must have watched her for all those lonely years having decided not to reveal himself to her again and let her go on alone. She did have children, but they grew up and got their own lives. I remember being a young woman when I saw the movie. I went to bed and wept, and I felt furious about all the things men have done for our own good, against our will. It's not like that as much anymore. Now a days, in our culture, it would be considered abusive and controlling. That's almost laughable. ...Almost. Just for a tiny moment.I'm so glad Severus didn't go away before Hermione could bring him back. I would have been furious!I can't believe how much has changed in my lifetime. My great grandparents would be utterly baffled to know they were in disfunctional and abusive relationships. I still remember when it was expected for men to decide what was best for us. My great grandmother who lived until I was 26, was forced to marry at 13 years old when her brother got married and her dad and bother decided she should marry the brother in law. He was much older than she was. She took her children and left him eventually when he brought another woman to live with them.(You go girl!) Her life was an adventure. She was married 8 times in her life. That's how women survived. The last time, she was a mail order bride. My Grandpa Jack was a shy sweet man willing to take her and her children and they grew old together. I was very close to my Great Grandma and Grandpa. She actually ended up outliving all of her 7 children. That was sad, but her grandchildern were all around her.And I don't feel like lagughing at all when I remember that many women in the world are still treated very abusively, like badly cared for children and like property and it is totally accepted in those cultures.

Severus was sort of a ghost, but not as we have in canon. He could appear to her spiritually, perhaps with a bit more substance than a ghost, and not cold. He didn't have Dumbledore give her any hints, Hermione came up with the potion from her own research. I have never seen the original Ghost nd Mrs. Muir. I do remember reruns of the tv show. I had no idea how sad it was! It seems that sometimes we do things because we feel it will be for someone's betterment. However, in that case, he was definitely wrong.Times really have changed. It looks like you have a rich history, with quite a few surprises. I don't envy your great grandmother at all. But she did find happiness in the end. I'm sure losing her children before her was difficult, though. Thanks for the review!
I really enjoyed Hermione's line about Dumbledore finally doing something right. It's very true, especially when it comes to Severus. The bond the two share is brilliant. very well done, Mystery Author!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked this little story. It's always nice to see Severus alive again, isn't it?
Thank you for the beautiful happy ending. Snape and Hermione are so perfect for each other, they compliment each other wonderfully. I am always delighted when they get the happiness they deserve.

I love fics that offer hope and a 'happy ending' for our dear Potions master and this offers both in abundance! If only real life could be 'fixed' like this!Beautiful - well done for writing!
