Touching little bit there, spies turned lovers turned enemies seeking reconciliation. Intriguing one shot.
Rachel, I really loved this story. I felt that it captured a lovely and realistic picture of what "could happen"---even though we all know that JKR would never throw this pair together. I love how it's open-ended at the conclusion of this story. Personally, I like to picture that he actually did go back... but that's just me. I love the happily ever after idea. Thanks so much, Gin! I enjoy pairings that could never happen in canon, just because it's such an interresting exercise to make it believable. I'm glad you liked this ending -- I don't plan to add to it, because I like how it can go so many places from here too. :-)
There are times when writers show the capacity to write Severus and Hermione so well that you just want to reach through the computer screen and shake them. You are one of those writers. I look forward to what comes next. -- B

Wow! Thanks so much! I've been writing Snape/Hermione for over a year now, and still don't quite feel I've got their characters as well as I should -- they're both very tricky to write. ;-) This is a one-shot, but I'll have other one-shots and longer fics on the way. :-)
I really liked this postHBP tale--the ambiguity, and the ending leaving just a crack open that they could try again. Melancholy but excellently written tale.
