I started writing fanfic for Star Trek TOS back in the eighties, but only published HP fanfic for the first time in December 2007, here on TPP. I enjoy HG/LM as well as HG/SS and cannot stand the idea of HG/RW. I dislike reading/writing about rape and violence; my stories all have nice endings... so be warned.

wonderful!! that's one of my favorite movies, too, for the same reasons. you totally did it justice. one of my fav scenes is the guys doing "sisters"...love the image of sev and draco doing it! thanks so much

Thank YOU! I was watching it again early December and just somehow saw the Potterverse characters playing it out, including the look on Severus' face when he had to 'dress up like a dame', and the look on Draco's face when Ginny tried to persuade him into an engagement; and then wrote it over the next two days. I've read somewhere that Bing Crosby was a pretty grumpy character in real life too... Thanks again for reading and leaving a review!
YEAH...my favorite movie too! This was adorable

Thank you SO much for your review and those lovely stars! It was much fun writing it, with a left-out, impoverished, rather powerless Dumbledore for a change.
Oh really fun and I loved how you used the characters. It was just like the movie to me, and I especially liked the Hermione and Ginny being sisters and all. However I thought it odd that Severus didn't know anyone's name in the beginning of the stroy. I'd have thought he'd at least know Draco's and the Weasley boys names. That was kind of odd that being in the 'Army' together they were strangers. Oh, well. it wasn't really a big thing. I like how Hermione ran off and Severus chased after her. Thumbs up hon.

Thanks very much, also for your suggestion! You have a point; connections must different between HP and WC anyway (the girls not knowing Dumbledore, for instance), but I could (and maybe should) have made Severus know some people at least superficially, if only by name. Then again, Severus generally avoids relations with other people, so if you could imagine anyone not knowing his army pals, it would be him. Maybe I'll go back to it later and change that (submission's closed now, so I suppose it cannot be done now). Thanks again for reading and reviewing!
I've never watched this movie. :) I found it an interesting take on the challenge.

Oh, you should watch it then! The plot and some of the acts are a little outdated here and there, but that has a charm of its own, and most of the dancing and singing is great. The whole setup (costumes, Xmas decorations) gives you a very Xmassy feeling. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
You did a great job adapting my favorite Christmas movie for SS/HG. I would love to hear Severus sing.

Thank you very much! Severus probably has a better voice than Bing Crosby... Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Well done. I can really see Severus as the older and wiser Bob Wallace and Hermione as the practical Betty Haynes.
