“Severus.”
“Why do you have orange gloop smeared across your countenance?”
“Emily wanted cookies.”
“That doesn’t explain why you have pumpkin innards smeared across your face.”
“Have you tried baking with an overly eager five-year-old?”
“You know that I haven’t.”
“You should try it sometime... It’s an experience.”
“So I see.”
“Well, are you going to stand there like a statue, or are you going to take that damn coat off and lend a hand?”
“Satisfied?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Too clean...”
“Hermione!”
“Yes, dear.”
“Come this side of the counter and do that again.”
“Gladly.”
“Where’s Emily?”
“With Minerva.”
“Excellent.”

I extend my eternal thanks to the delightful little_beloved who graciously checked my punctuation for me.
This was quiet a challenge for me writing a drabble consisting of dialogue only. I am reasonably pleased with the result.
