Now look, dear! He did survive! I saved him in so many different ways, I read so many stories where he is safe and sound that, for me, he didn't die. I like one-shots ;-) I couldn't find a way to make it longer without making it a WIP, and I didn't want that. What was too abrupt for you? Thanks for reading and reviewing, of course!

I like one-shots, too; this story is just a tad longer than my average effort, and I'm prone to letting the readers connect the dots as well.  I guess that ideally in my mind, there would have been one more scene where he comes out of the shower and they have the beginnings of a discussion, but that would probably end up redundant.  At least you clued us in to the happy ending and included an adorable picture of Sammy.
