DH gapfiller. What really should have happened on Harry's walk towards the final face-off. HP/DM

26 years old, avid HP fan, live in a pretty rainy country. My favourite writer is George Orwell, which should be taken as a warning by anyone looking for pink fluff. I do not like pink fluff.
I used to be a hard core SS/HG shipper. Then came Dracontia and completely blew my mind with her HP/DM stories. And once I started reading slash, there was just no going back. I still enjoy a well-written SS/HG (or any pairing, really), but the current passion is pretty boy-on-boy action. :-) Any pairing, more or less, I'm not that picky (except for SS/HP, that really creeps me out for some reason.)
I'm also an avid Bandom fan (P!atD). Those fics can be found on my LJ if you want to explore the waters outside the HP realm one day.
2008-12-08: Today, I abandoned hope of finishing my SS/HG WIPs "Shades of Grey" and "Les innocents." I'm very sad about letting go, but I feel it was the right thing to do. (More details in the A/Ns of each story if you're interested).

I'm not ruling it out, not at all. The idea rather fascinates me, actually. Can't promise anything though, we'll see what the muse brings. Glad you liked it!

It would be a shame to not review such a wonderfully written piece. I've recently been addicted to this ship by a few authors and I don't regret it as it's always pleasurable reading. Thanks again for sharing.

Interesting. I'm wondering why the tryst? Was it because he was available, survivor's guilt? Indulging in a secret passion? Well written and a good pace.

Secret passion, definitely. :-) Harry's always loved Draco, he's just a little slow on the uptake. LOL

This was a very intense one shot. I am most impressed. I want to think they found some satisfaction in being together alive or dead?

Thank you. It actually would be very interesting to write the companion piece to this one--with staying true to canon and have Harry come back. I mean, pulling all stops in the face of death is one thing, but how do you do it at the start of a new life, with everyone's expectations on you (including your own)?Might continue that train of thought sometime. We'll see. Anyway, thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked the story.

Damn. That gave me real chills. Wow. What a glorious scene, so rich. I could see it all happening too...wow. You did an amazing job with this.

Thank you so much! It feels really fitting to me, somehow. In my mind, Harry's magical life has depended on Voldemort, sure, but the connection with Draco has run clear all along, regardless of the emotion behind it. (I mean, just take book 6--if that's not obsession, then I don't know what is. :-)) So I wanted the "life flashing before his eyes" to include Draco. :-) I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

I adored this. *sigh* Drarry is my OTP, and this is just how I see their relationship, needing and loving and hating each other with such intensity. You portrayed it beautifully. Well done!

Thank you. That's exactly the reason why I love these two so much as well. There's this line in one of Dracontia's fics (Variance of Gravity, probably), where Harry describes Draco as "a man he'd always known passionately, if not well." And that's really just the nail on the head for me.Thanks for reviewing! I'm really glad you liked it.
