fifty-something happy wife and college mom.
Matchmaker is on a bit of a hiatus. We've had two deaths amongst our closest freinds, my beta is ill, and my mom is in bad health. So it may take me a while to get back to that cheery place where I can write such nonsense. I will finish it though, unless I die, too.
Reviews for Perpetual Kittens
Death by kitten, a fitting end for that bitch Umbridge, and a slightly dark Hermione, just perfect. Perpetual kittens now I want one.
I like the magical premise that you've created here: kittens that transfigure to kill. But I can't see Hermione murdering even Umbridge in cold blood like that....Still a good read for a chilly fall day with a cat on your lap. What's that kitty? Nooooooooooooo.........

LOL! It may be a bit OOC for Hermione to kill, but then, remember how our perceptions of Dumbledore changed from kindly grandfather figure to war leader who will do what must be done to win. I prefer to think of my Hermione as cooly logical rather than ruthless, Some people are so slimey they never get caught; Umbridge stikes me as that type.Thank you for reviewing. Watch out for those kitties! I have to say I love the idea of them romping innocently in McGonagall's office the day after.

Ah, what a wonderfully fitting end for Dolores. I love the idea of perpetual kittens. :) It really worked well with this prompt.

I'm thrilled you liked my story, and the idea of perpetual kittens. Wouldn't they be adorable if they never grew up? Ah Death by Kittens! yes, Dolores deserved that. Thank you for enjoying my tale! Tanks for the stars.

Oh, I can just imagine the confusion of the Muggle parents when the ‘changing on them presents’ Transfigure into something else!
Loved that Umbridge thought that Severus would send her one of Minerva’s adorable perpetually young kittens! But the snake idea – the kittens turning into snakes and biting her! Priceless!I can’t believe that Hermione was the one to send the kittens to Umbridge though!Really good use of the prompt and I loved the plot.

Thank you for such a kind review. I am thrilled that you like my little story. I really amused myself by having Umbridge think that Snape actually liked her enough to steal a kitten for her. Shows what a good actor he is.As to Hermione, well, we don't know if she was the one who actually sent the kittens, now do we? Of course, she certainly seems to be in the know, and Professor Snape suspects her of being the actual commander, now, of Dumbledore's Army. Perhaps Hermione simply put the idea out there and some of her eager friends, having nothing more exciting to do, acted on it. Sort of like Henry II and Becket. "Will no one rid me of this troublesome Inquisitor General!?"Thanks again for such a nice review!

I do love your premise of multiple transfigurations. The cuteness of the asassins reminds me of the "Puss-in-Boots" character in Shrek whose weapon was his big eyes and overall cuteness. It makes me wonder if these kittens, after having a taste of intrigue, might evolve into perpetrators of all sorts of nefarious doings, totally unsuspected due to their cuteness and overall innocent appearance. Perhaps, since they are magical, they might learn to transfigure themselves (after being transfigured by others so many times). It could be worse than polyjuice run amok to have kittens masquerading as people, but with the intellectual capacity and interests of a kitten. For example a Snape look-alike who is fascinated by the movement of the feather quills his students are writing with. I can imagine Minerva "tracking" her kitten to Snape's lab only to be met with big blinking eyes and an enormous yawn when she questionns him.

Thank you for your kind review! I have to admit, I was quite taken, myself, by my clever idea of multiple transfigurations. :-) WOW! your idea of the kitties having more adventures is brilliant. I love the quills idea. I wonder if I could pull it off; maybe we could collaborate? I haven't seen Shreck, but now I want to!
Response from mikimoto (Reviewer)
You are 100% welcome to any of the out-of-the-box ideas that litter my mind. But since you are "hidden before voting," it would be difficult for me to collaborate with you directly, unless you want to e-mail me.I think your idea has so many possibilities. I can see something like Puck's mischieviousness and I can see them getting drunk on catnip or coughing up hairballs at inopportune moments (like can you see a snake coughing up a hairball?)I hope you enjoy all of the places your ideas take you.

What an AWESOME little oneshot! I love it! Hermione the conspirator... haha! I always thought Umbridge needed more of a punishment. Thanks for the great writing!

Thank you for your kind review. I'm thrilled that you like my story. I, too, think Umbridge deserves something bad to happen to her! That type usually escape punishment, so I thought, kittens, snakes, hmmm.

Very good! I can't really force myself to feel too bad for Umbridge, somehow...Hermione makes a formidable enemy!
Response from pookah (Author of Perpetual Kittens)
Thank you for liking my story! it makes me so happy. I agree about Umbridge, she enjoyed persecuting Muggle-borns. She needs to be punished. Yes, I think Hermione is one I'd prefer to have on my side.

Ooh - bad Hermione! And what an ingenious assassination weapon. *mind goes off on potential for snake animagi as murderers*
Response from pookah (Author of Perpetual Kittens)
Thank you! I liked the idea myself. Your idea of anake animagi as murderers is very clever! I hope to see you writing another one of your clever tales about it!

LOL Vindictive Hermione--the next Dark Lord :)
Response from pookah (Author of Perpetual Kittens)
I prefer to think of her as Logical Hermione. Coolly and a bit ruthlessly logical. And Not a dark Lord, a Lady of light and learning. Thanks for the kind review stars! I'm delighted the tale pleased you.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving person! I love how the kittens did it. By any chance, is the name of one of the kittens Nermal?
Response from pookah (Author of Perpetual Kittens)
Oh my gosh! That's so funny! I hadn't been thinking of Nermal, but there he is in my brain now. Thank you for your review; it made my morning bright.
Response from elsolel (Reviewer)
I am so glad that I brightened your morning, since your story brightened mine. As for Nermal, well, I adore the Garfield comic strip, and he is the "World's Cutest Kitten" right?
Response from pookah (Author of Perpetual Kittens)
Yeah, but he's only the Muggle world's Cutest Kitten. Minerva's kitties are magically cute, like veela kitties, cuter than normal, even Nermal, kittens. I hadn't though of Nermal in a long time! LOL

Ding dong, the witch is dead! I gasped and then laughed out loud when Kingsley said she was dead. I definitely wasn't expecting that. Everyone's reactions were so priceless. Not a dry eye among them... from laughing so hard at the fact that she was gone. Ha! Great use of the prompt.
Response from pookah (Author of Perpetual Kittens)
Thank you for the kind review! I'm so glad you like their reactions to the 'tragic' death. Just imagine what the older kids will be saying about the story in the Daily Prophet the next morning! But Mr Filch will be sorry.

Wow thanks for the review! I am flattered! I will do my best to continue this, since I love the idea of kittens that never grow up. If you happen to have any plot ideas you'd like to see in this tale, let me know, OK? Of course the kitties MUST be a part of the tale. (Not necessarily with bright ribbons tied around their necks, though.)

Excellent story! I loved the use of the kittens as agents of death... adorable assassins! Nice ending to suggest that Hermione is just as dangerous; put a pink bow on her, and you'd never think that she could plot anything worse than pouncing on a ball of wool. Good job... and thanks for writing it

They are adorable assasins. I have my Splendid Beta to thank for Severus drawing the conclusion at the end that Hermione is as dangerous as a snake, Many thanks to my Beta!Thank you for the kind review! So glad you like it!
