I have to apologize to everyone, period. Real life swallowed me whole, as I have been struggling to make a living writing original fiction over the last 8 years. It has not been easy, & has been complicated by health issues. I hope people can forgive my long silences. Trying to make enough money to live on from writing is a lot harder--waaaay harder--than it looks. (At least I didn't leave any posted fanfics unfinished.)
Anyhoo...
These stories are works of parody (& thus are allowable under US law), and are not written for profit. Just for fun. I'm not making any money off of any fanfics, nor will I ever. I'm just playing around in other writers' universes.
...I am, however, making something of a living off my own stories. (If anyone wants to play around in my universes, you may visit my website, www.jeanjohnson.net, and look up my policy on Fanfics & Fanarts. It's reasonable enough and fairly easy to follow, too...)

Found this story from the quiz, and just had to say that you're making this plotline work spendidly! Maybe the 'reading together' thing is kind of a SS/HG cliche, but it reads here like it's the first time. Beautiful.

Thank you! (It's one of my personal fantasies, clichéed or otherwise...)~Lotm
What is a lavilavi? lolI really like this one too, we don't really learn that much about severus in the books so his real personality is entirely open to interpretation. Again I picked out another random error:P You had Karkhov instead of karkaroff, lol im sad I know:P sorry to be picky, Im a tad OCD with that sort of thing as you may have noticed when I read In Annulo:PLots of Love,~breezy

It's kind of like a sarong, but worn around the waist by both genders. If you ever go to Pago Pago, the locals will be wearing them, men as well as women--and the men will even wear them over their business suits, trousers and all.To be without a lavilavi in their culture is like being an ancient Egyptian without kohl on one's eyes...or to be a teenager without text messaging in our era.~Lotm

Me too :( lol
This was SO much fun to read! ^_^ Far more light-hearted than In Annulo, and yet still satisfying. (And my god, woman, SO HOT!) ;) Thank you for sharing!
Cute, my husband loves it when I scratch his five o'clock shadow. He's Italian and has a large nose, and is thin -so I completely get the attractiveness of Snape. I do love your writing. You are truly gifted!Livvy

Thank you, both for this and for your other posted compliments! I've had men literally purr for me when I did that to them. I can also understand the feeling, since it's the same one I get after I've worn a corset all day. (I'm in the SCA, so I occasionally release my grip on sanity and wear one every now and again.) And Italians can be quite attractive, ci...~Lotm
I am just in love with this story! So sweet and there is an innocence about it. I see Snape in such a different light, more vulnerable. I like him like this- I don't like his mask of the snarky bastard.Very Good job!Livvy
The only thing that really felt OOC was the Granger-Snape instruction manual, but that was super cute! Way fun. This story is fantastic. (And there are totally nude beaches in Hawaii, they just arent well known.) Hehe. Thank you!
What a lucky, lucky young woman! Who else would have had the patience and discipline to pursue her so slowly. She has no idea how lucky she really is, I don't think. She doesn't know enough men yet to really know what a treasure she has been granted by fate. I'm sure she'll figure it out along the way, though. He is so romantic in this story, but not out of character at all, I think. When this really sinks in I wonder how she will feel? I'm sure you'll let us know. I'm so happy for Severus that he has found his true love. He needs true love more than anyone else in cannon. And there is no one else who could possibly be his match but Hermione. I actually read the rest story last night, but I had some other issues going on so I couldn't take the time to leave feedback. So, I decided I would just have to read it again tonight so that I could do so.
I must retire. I have to read this again tomorrow night. It is worth savering. I have questions about how one exactly builds up the kind of corrispondance they have enjoyed to start adding in mutual self pleasure. How do you get there? Who started it? Did she ask questions in more of an innocent way that he answered back in a flirting way, what? I want to see the letters that transition from good friends to Hermione having the nerve to tell him how she wants him to touch himself while thinking of her. Good night dear, writer. I look forward to tomorrow night.
"Imagine such a voice wrapping around your senses, penetrating your defenses, stroking your nerves and stoking the fires of your imagination with all the power of that delectable New World aphrodisiac as you read this…intimate…letter of his."
I'm sure it was never your intention, dear writer, to make this seduction sound so close to his postion's speech in the first movie.
I had to go to youtube until the fires of my imagination and my senses were sufficiently, wrapped, penetrated, stroked and stoked so that I could come back and read this again with a renewed sense of auditory sensitivity. And it is well past my bedtime. I will be a mess at work.
And he certainly is moving things right along. For... shame.
Splindid! I had forgotten about the letters. I sense that at some point, Hermione will begin to feel some personal conflict as she feels herself more drawn to her Professor while being courted by Rus. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I admit it is only a guess. My doctor assures me I do not have early dementia, but I am not convinced. I have spent years on medication that I believe has affected my cognitive function.
But that's not important now. I'm really, really enjoying this story, and I know it is a necessary premiss for the story to work, but it does seem possibly odd to me that the girl whom has already solved so many mysteries hasn't at some point, racked her know-it-all brain trying to figure out if Rus could be someone she might actually know. And it surprising that she does not recognize anything in common between Rus and Severus Snape, from the detailed way he discribes his personality.
I will assume that until now, she has paid almost no attention at all to Professor SeverRus Snape. Therefore, she has seen nothing Rus and Severus might have in common that would cause her any suspicion. And I will chalk it up to her trusting nature and lack of life experience that she wouldn't consider the possiblility that Rus would dissemble to protect his identity.
Preferrably I think that Severus should always be portrayed as a ruthless, snide, bitter person that has every justified right to getting that which he deserves. However, it does read well and though it is written OOC I would recomend this story as a must read.

Lol...and here I was thinking he deserves to fall in love with a woman worthy of him who can see past his (admittedly horrid) rough exterior, appreciate his greater qualities, and share many similar interests with him. Hence the way I 'ship SSHG. (Frankly, Hermione deserves someone who can see her good qualities, appreciate her intelligence, and stimulate her mentally as well as physically.) (*sigh* If only there was a Snape-like fellow--fanon!Snape, naturally--out there for me, somewhere...)*Snerk*,~Lotm

...Author's Whinge: I want my very own Snape, replete with Snape Instruction Manual!!
Well, don't we all? Why else would I be reading this?
And 'This' BTW, is terrific!
*Wow* *Sigh* Lovely. Just perfect. :-)
Don't care if this was OOC or AU...really enjoyed this ...it romped along quite nicely.Well worked, and for the most part 'in character',it was a very enjoyable HG/SS rom fic.Not predictable by any means, and with a few twists to the plot.....some that were obvious(but hey....we don't want to work THAT hard!) but with all that lovely snioneyness! Not your usual fic storyline either......so enjoyable thru' its 'originality'(?) as well!I think I'll be getting one of those 'charters' for my husband.....very useful methinks..lol.
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Nope, we don't want to work THAT hard, indeed! Lol...I try to put some effort into my stories, but...meh, I have other things I need to do, too! *mock-gasp--no, say it ain't so!* Ooh, Snione. I love it! I was having the hardest time coming up with something for the pairing that would have the same ring to it as Snarry and Snupin (admirable 'ships of their won when well-written, but I must confess I sail my OTP, the good 'ship SS/HG, most of all...), and this is good. And yes, do go for it. I personally would love to find a man willing to write me a 'Care & Maintenance Of..." manual regarding himself, 'cause I'd be delighted to write one about me for him!~Lotm
Very, very well done! Your Severus was bloody fantastic! I loved this story, it was so, so wonderful! Keep up the fab work! Cheers,

Great story! I love it.
And I think I'll do what you said about start all over again with the Prologue... hopefully is short enough I'll be able do that several times. ;) can you tell that I love it? :)

Muwahahahahaha! *with Dramatically Curled Fingers™, and now with All New, Flickering Lightning & Booming Thunder Special-FX™!*I suckered you into reading it a second time, and I didn't even bother to HIDE my deviously nefarious scheme!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! *flicker-rumble!*...Sowwy, couldn't resist!~Lotm
This is FANTASTIC! Yes, it's OOC, yes, there is more fluff than in a 20yr old tumble dryer but by God its Damn Good Reading Material!!!! LotM with her magnificent standards rises to the occasion again! I love the development of the relationship over the long period of time, creating the sturdy foundations to build their love on. There are just not enough euphemisms to describe my adoration for your HG/SS juicy fics, brilliant flowing dialogue, great under currents of emotion....*waxws lyrical for an hour and a half*.....Just an all round jolly good story! Blessings

*hands you a glass of cool lemonade after such a long-winded bout of lyricism* Aw, shucks--t'weren't nothin',

! *snerk*OOC and Fluffy is like the lemon meringue pudding served after a dinner of pot roast and potatoes--fluffy, sugary, a little tart, and virtually nothing compared to the weightier fanfics one so often reads. But, darnit! Sometimes you just gotta have fluffy-wuffy empty-calorieness! (or in this case, empty-characterizationness) *snerk*, I say!Hugs,~Lotm
Quid pro quo. This is awesome. Earlier I commented that this appeared to be a version of In Annulo. I was Wrong. I can see where you'd drawn small parts of this for use in In Annulo, but this beautiful beast has a life of its own. Thank you, again, for finishing this and posting it despite HBP. This is a lovely and original fic. Their relationship in this story is far more emotionally intimate than I ever remember reading in your work. I'm really feeling the love; they deserve it! Great job! Cheers!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Thanks, Lyndie. Yep, just small parts drawn for IA...but what nice parts! ~Lotm
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I have no problem with Snape in private being a softie, once someone gets beyond the act... I think many prickly people are in fact extremely sensitive cover that fact. Your Snape fits that sort of character perfectly.A big part of the reason I enjoyed this, was to see the parallels and similarities to In Annulo. It's intriguing and I'll probably read this again soon!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
I'm that way myself, though I'm not prickly so much as guarded. Glad you enjoyed it! ~Lotm
I have just finished reading this story. It was a wonderful and lovely read. I started it last night and finished this morning, and let me say...I never had such...interesting...dreams.LOLBlessed beRed
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Damn. I'd love to have those sorts of dreams, myself!~Lotmthe currently sleep-deprived, due to the coughing fits from her chest cold...
I just found this today, while looking for something to read to ignore my migraine. As with any of your stories, I'm thoroughly and completely engaged, and I've not given you a review until now because I was greedily racing through the story. However, I must tell you the Granger-Snape Instructions were completely endearing. Bravo!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
I hope your migraine is getting better, hon!~Lotm
Response from Bambu (Reviewer)
Thanks. Your story did much to make me feel better, and the medication finally worked. I feel the compulsion to ignore everything else in life and go read 'For Someone Special' again... it's been a long time since I read it. But I'm not sure I have 36 hours to devote to it... well... maybe.... I really hope you've begun to publish original work somewhere. You're really too clever a writer to only write fanfic.
Oh, Yeah! You do seem to love to marry them off to eachother--how romantic! Cheers!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
A-yup. I'm a terminal romantic.~Lotmpart-time sap, part-time mook, full-time kitty-cat...er, I mean writer, yeahhh...
Eek!! LOL. This is great! I hope he follows through; Hermione is strong, she can handle it! Ya!!! Thanks!
You are the true mistress, LOTM! Wonderful story, just one thing. I've a birthday coming up soon and I was wondering if I could nick your Snape and his instruction manual for some fun? Either way, I kneel before your wonderous talent! ~The Mistress
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
*banff!* There...a Dopple-Snape just for you, holding a copy of the manual-scroll and wearing a lecherous grin....Just a lecherous grin.;-D~Lotm
