I have to apologize to everyone, period. Real life swallowed me whole, as I have been struggling to make a living writing original fiction over the last 8 years. It has not been easy, & has been complicated by health issues. I hope people can forgive my long silences. Trying to make enough money to live on from writing is a lot harder--waaaay harder--than it looks. (At least I didn't leave any posted fanfics unfinished.)
Anyhoo...
These stories are works of parody (& thus are allowable under US law), and are not written for profit. Just for fun. I'm not making any money off of any fanfics, nor will I ever. I'm just playing around in other writers' universes.
...I am, however, making something of a living off my own stories. (If anyone wants to play around in my universes, you may visit my website, www.jeanjohnson.net, and look up my policy on Fanfics & Fanarts. It's reasonable enough and fairly easy to follow, too...)

Excellent story! I really liked the way the DEs were neutralised in chapter nine. Very clever indeed! Good stuff all around, great work!
Wow! Lovely story up to this point. Wonderfully written, makes me want to be Severus' penpal too. But I do have one little quibble... you mentionned something about 'joue d’amour’ and I had to laugh a little bit. My french is quite good (being french-canadian) and what you wrote means 'cheek of love'. Depending upon which cheeks you are talking about, it might make sense... *grin* but I believe you were trying to say 'jeux d'amour' which means 'love games'. Hope my input helps... if you ever need some french translations, i'd be happy to help. Cheers!
I think this story was sooo cute, besides who needs Cannon?
I'm so happy that you have decided to publish this story. I'm a big fan of "In Annulo", and though I see a few similarities, "Protector" is keeping me interested. After the depressed collective sigh and pause of the HG/SS community after Book 6, it's good to see the AU thriving.

Technically, I started Protector before I started In Annulo, so some of the initial plotline ideas crossed over into IA. With great success, it must be stated. I'm glad you enjoyed this one!~Lotm
Totally addictive writing. Your stories are superb. It was very interesting to see the parts of the story that were shared with In Annulo - which is one of the best stories I have read. Anywhere. Ever. The Granger-Snape manual is pure genius. He seems the type of person that would have an easier time revealing his vulnerability in writing than saying them out loud. Thank you for sharing your gift.

You're welcome, and yes, I agree. Sometimes it's just easier to put it into writing...~Lotm
Lotm, I really enjoyed this fic. As with all you works, the premise is so creative and worked so well...and I totally agree with you re: Snape's true character--we will never, ever know that--so imaginging a Snape who can accept love is refreshing in fic!
That totaly rocked!
I've read a good number (read: embarrassingly large number) of cute SSHG but your Granger-Snape instructions take the cake. Great idea, and couldn't be any more endearing if ya tried. Thanks!
Oh, dear heaven. This chapter most definitly needs a lengthy warning not to attempt to eat or drink anything while reading, for fear of inhalation of the substance during laughter. On that note, I also highly recomend that this be read somewhere that the reader will not be quantified as crazy for laughing his or her head off due to the extremely dry, understated Snape-like sense of humor conveyed in this chapter. I began this chapter while eating dinner in a classroom before class, and I nearly had to stop for need of air, as well as avoiding the rather odd looks I would've gotten for laughing my head off during a rather boring botany class. I've also been somewhat distantly involved in the SCA, and I must admit, that was my first thought at your description of In Annulo as being a rather haraldic description. Keep up the wonderful writing! Unfortunatly, there isn't a rating over five stars, but you do deserve it.

*arches her brow* Reading in botany class? Tut tut. DETENTION!! Bad kittykat! Detention--no, double-detention with Professor Sprout!~LotmP.S. The really fun herbs are in greenhouse 4...
Hi! I just finished reading your story and I loved it!! Especially Rus's Granger-Snape manual :)
I utterly adored the Granger-Snape manual. I swear I couldn't stop giggling and even now when I think of the wording I get a stupid, silly grin on my face. Your story was very entertaining and I really liked some of the ideas you used. It wasn't overly rushed and most little thoughts were answered. Good Job!!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Meh...the ending was still rushed, in my opinion. But the bunny insisted on screeching to a halt, and plot-bunnies are most stubborn about such things......Mind you, I'd love to have an "owner's manual", too. It would make things sooo much easier, just referencing it whenever needed in a relationship (including periodically updated editions, of course, as time and circumstances change).~Lotm
wonderfully romantic story!
Even though AU, this was still a great story (Damn HBP). And I did recognize the similarities to In Annulo, especially that Rus. Anyway, this was a great story just like all of your other works.
You, as always astound me with your writing. Absolutely spell-binding. Maybe I can get a couple stories up over the hols so I can share with those I enjoy reading. Thank you for your continued success! :)

Grr I made the serious mistake of starting to read this after 10.30pm. Its now 12.45 as I simply couldn't put it down. It was a joy to find a fic of yours I hadn't read.
and I will be rereading it again soon too!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Glad I could entertain you, Lady Seraphina!*hugs*,~LotmP.S. Though I'm not responsible, of course, for any sleep lost in your doing so...(yes, this is blatant butt-covering, lol)
I'm allowed to squee all over again, even if it's the third of forth time I read it?
I still love it.
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Yup. So long as you don't disturb anyone trying to sleep, or bake a soufflé, or whatever...*hugs*~Lotm
I loved it, but then again I love all of your works. Your writing style is easy to follow and your characters are fantastic. Where can I get my own Granger-Snape, complete with owner manual? If you know of any, please send them my way. Cheers, Sonia
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
--I'm still trying to find a Muggle of my own, replete with owner's manual! Lol, glad you enjoyed it, though.Hugs,~Lotm
Oh man, you've done it again...you freaking rock.
*Claps* WONDERFUL dear!!!!! Simply wonderful
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Thank you!~Lotm
Perfect!
*Sighs* I want my own Snape Manual as well!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
So do I. Actually, I want my own man, one with his his own pre-written manual. Heck, just give me the man, and I'll convince him to write the manual!~Lotm
*Giggles like an old-aged school girl* Oh the emotions you put me through woman! Another lovely chapter... Indeed...
I have nothing more to say other then, This was too great of a laugh for me in most places! Once again, thanks
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
You're very welcome; I'm glad I could entertain you!~Lotm
*Claps* Oh goodness. How Perfect!!!!!!!
Its me again! Lol.. So as you know I finally got through, "For someone special" And started reading this one, once you gave e the links from Yim.. (After all, you have surly become one of my favorite authors!) But I have to tell you again, how I am amazed how much you show Snape as Snape from J.K Rowlings perspective.. I have yet to read anything from you where you sit there and make him completely "Un-snapish" and that is one thing I love about your writings more then anything else! Oh and I almost forget, I will be pre-ordering a copy of your book.. If your worlds and charries, or anything is the sort like this.. I will have no qulm's of falling in love like I have with so many other of your writings... Now for the next chapter.. Julianna
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of Protector)
Awww... Here's hoping you enjoy my original stuff as much as the fanfic stuff!~Lotm
