How did Snape survive Nagini’s attack, how did he and Hermione get together, and how did Prince Manor get involved?
This was written for the 2011 SSHG Exchange, in response to aleysiasnape's prompt: Severus and Hermione are trapped somewhere in Prince Manor while exploring.

I have completed my Master's of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and want to focus on serving the LGBTQIA community and the Alt/Kink/Poly communities in my work. I used to be a poker tournament director and floorperson at the world famous Binion's Gambling Hall in downtown Las Vegas. Before that, I was high school Spanish and Theatre teacher. I am happily married and (thankfully) have NO kids. I have an original short story published here: http://www.elm-books.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=R01%2DChristmasBadGirls under my penname, Jess Alynn. Thanks for taking a chance and reading my stories! :)
Oh, and check out the "trailer" for Phantom of Hogwarts that xtahsee made for me on youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k63yCE9sslY
Reviews for Reading the Stories That Scars Tell
Wonderful start. I like your Hermione very much. I think your Snape is shaping up to be quite likable as well. Hermione won't dersert him, so she will just have to fall in love with him. There's nothing for it. And, he should be loved. Hopefully, he will let himself love and be loved now. I hope he can get over Lily and on with Hermione.

ROFL!!! There's nothing for it, indeed. ;D Glad you're enjoying it so far. Thanks for reviewing! :)
Love it! Went to bed full of warm fuzzies at some ridiculous hour so I'm not the most articulate right now, but enjoyed the witty repartee and the just-being-and-growing-together vibe: very realistic. It was nice to see you on the lists again!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*bounces in happiness* You just warmed my heart that you felt it was realistic. I strive so much for that! :D Thank you for such a lovely review! :)

Yay! Once a prince, always a Prince!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
And a definite Happily Ever After for them both! Thanks for reviewing! :)
Yummy!!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*wicked grin* Glad you enjoyed it. (They sure did. LOL) Thanks for reviewing! :)
I'd start singing "Getting to Know You" right about now...
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*snort* They've definitely been doing that (getting to know each other, not singing, LOL). Thanks for reviewing! :)
Could it be that they're well on their way to finding their new home?
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
Unless they're already in it? Thanks for reviewing! :)
Chickens!!!

*beams* I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reviewing! :)
That's cute - even the waitress noticed they're like a couple in love!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
Hee! They must be pretty comfortable with each other, eh? Thanks for reviewing! :)
Oh! Is somebody warming up to a certain man, without his knowing it?
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
LOL!! Hmmm, he may know more than he realizes. ;) Thanks for reviewing! :)
i 'bout fell out of my chair when i saw your name show up for a new fic.I adore it!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*blush* Awww, you're so sweet! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reviewing! :)
I feel so badly for Severus! To be that lovesick twice in one's life. He never deliberately attempted to fall for her! But now that he has, he's come to depend on her. And he's trying not to be jealous- but he is. Hermione is trying to balance things, and it's not working for her. Ron has come to the realization that he has to share Hermione and he's not happy. It's such a mess.
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
The course of love never does run smooth... They're both fairly inexperienced with this whole romantic relationship thing. I daresay they'll figure it out. ;) Thanks for reviewing :)
Usually in the stories, Hermione is the one that develops the crush first. But it looks like Severus has beat her to the punch this time!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*beams* Looks like! She'll catch up eventually. LOL Thanks for reviewing! :)
Hermione must be left-handed then. Either that or she's twisted around, and noone would be able to read her notes!
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
LOL Actually, her left hand is holding his left hand, like they were shaking hands, so she can sit on the bed to his left or lie on her stomach and still be able to write. ;) That's where she's been whenever she was there while he was unconscious. Dedication? She has it. *smirk* Thanks for reviewing! :)
This makes so much more sense than the assumptions we've conjured up so far. The scene with Narcissa kind of bothered me though - she came across highly ungrateful, and for all that Severus did to help protect Draco, that was un called for. The scene with Poppy and Hermione though, made up for all the unpleasantness he faced at the manor. Hermione's care was lovely and sweet. I hope he appreciates it when he awakes.
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*beams* I'm glad you liked how he survived. And he certainly deserves the care from Poppy and Hermione. Thanks for reviewing! :)
But... but... what about the books in the Prince Manor library. They didn't just leave them there, did they? Please tell me two people who reverence books wouldn't leave them there? ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
I'm sure they kept anything worthwhile that they didn't already have otherwise. *pets you* ;) Thanks for reviewing! :)
Ooooh! Lemon meringue pie, anyone? ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
LOL!! Definite citrus! ;P Thanks for reviewing! :)
I really enjoyed this story. Very nice development of the characters and the relationship.
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*wriggles in joy* I'm so glad you enjoyed the development of the characters and relationship. I had hoped I had managed to make them plausible. Thank you for reviewing! :)
It's like a haunted house, almost. Of course she'd find out from a book now, wouldn't she? I like the new Patronuses (Patroni?) by the way, especially Hermione's. But then, I've always been partial to owls. ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
INORITE? Yay! I'm glad you like their new Patronus forms (see how I avoided that conundrum? LOL). I thought about them for a very long time. Thanks for reviewing! :)
An interesting Halloween. Does Severus have any more of that stomach settling potion? I could use a good dose every now and then. ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
Interesting, indeed. ;) What, you don't like Pepto Bismol? *shudder* Thanks for reviewing! :)
Interesting cure for PTSD. Does the Pentagon know about this? ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! If WE could get that as a treatment, I'd seek out something to traumatize me just to get the cure! *snerk* Thanks for reviewing! :)
Interesting birthday party. I'd say they all had too much to drink. Well, all but Severus. Did any of the boys get splinched on the way home? ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*snerk* Fortunately, none of the boys splinched. :D But the party did certainly serve as a catalyst for things, eh? Thanks for reviewing! :)
Now, what is that man planning? Obviously something for Hermione's birthday. A cake, perhaps? ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
*shifty eyes* Maaaaaybe... ;P Definitely something good! Thanks for reviewing! :)
And Jealous!Ron strikes again. Roommates? What exactly is Severus plotting here? ^_^
Response from Good_Witch (Author of Reading the Stories That Scars Tell)
Yeah, I actually kinda felt bad writing Ron to be so jealous in this, but it was necessary this time. LOL Thanks for reviewing! :)
