Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

Thank you so much. It has been posted awhile. I usually don't write dark tales. It was a challenge. Glad you like it.
I really enjoyed this story and was thrilled that they had a happy ending. Bringing in the house elves the way you did was genius. The painting was perfect, having Hermione and Severus talk to all they had lost and make amends was heartwarming. My feelings on Dumbledore have not always been in kind, he was a true manipulator at heart and even though it was for the greater good he could have made it so much easier for Harry and Severus. I love to read stories where Severus has a second chance for a life, a real life with love and happiness. He deserved so much more than what he got. I cried when he died, in the book and the movie and the sadness stayed with me for some days after. Thanks for sharing a wonderful story of forgiveness, love and hope.

Thank you I'm glad you loved the story, I'm not real comfortable with part of it. I was trying to write somthing I'd never done before. I do like the ending though. I agree Severus sure got a bad deal in the books and movies. Alan sure played the final scene with amazing talent. I was so happy they let that story play out as well as they did even adding a bit to it.Yes he did deserve so much more and that why I write. I like to give him that happy ending.
Yay for a happy ending! I really liked the painting as it was a unique take on something already established in canon. It gave them both a chance for some closure and now they can move on in the rebuilding of their world and the furthering of their relationship. And let's not forget all of that baby making ;) Nicely done.

Sorry for the delayed review. I read this one on the run and am just now finding the time. I love the house-elf army. They seem like they wouldn't be much in a fight, but the way you've depicted them and their extremely powerful magic was a lot of fun.So glad that Voldemort is out of the picture. Now they can get on to baby making ;)It seems appropriate that Hermione would want to see Hagrid of all people first. What a relief it must be to know there are others, even if a lot are missing from their ranks.

I agree the house-elves didn't do much in battle their magic was so powerful they didn't have too, and maybe also I'm pretty nadiquate at writing battle scenes LOL. Yep that baby making is pretty enjoyable :)I'm glad you enjoyed the scene with Hagrid. I love that huge or furry guy :).

Your battle scene was fine. I wasn't really clear. Aside from your story, to look at a house-elf and think that they are going to be much help when it comes to fighting seems unlikely. So I was impressed that they were so helpful in your little tale :)
As scary as this chapter is, the end made me so happy!

I am really enjoying this story...i don't normally like darker stories but this one has intreged me and it's not too dark too put me off. I can't wait for the next chapter...the way you are writing these characters are wonderful and inventive.
