Due to the often controversial nature of my fics, I've decided I will no longer be posting here (this not NOT include my WIPs--Princes in Exile and Caged Bird Sings will continue to be updated here. This is regarding only my oneshots and future long fics). You can find all my stories at my Livejournal, under the name literaryspell. None of the fics are, as yet, friendslocked, so you can read at your leisure, and friend me, or not, as you like. :D Be sure to check out my master list, which is the first post on my LJ page. Thank you!
If anyone would prefer to send comments to me personally, or would just like to talk plot or make suggestions, please contact me at literaryspell@live.com. I'm happy to hear from anyone!

I am quite attached to your story. When I get the email saying it's been updated I stop everything to read it. Last chapter made me late to work lol. This is a wonderful chapter. I love how well you are painting the characters. I had always pictured Tonks as being the jealous type to, so I'm glad someone agrees with me. I'm sitting on the edge of my chair waiting for the next update.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
You have no idea how good I feel to hear that you're attached only four chapters in. Thank you so much! I really hope you enjoy the update.
I like how you are getting both Hermione and Remus into a narrower and narrower corner. They both have their own corners. Hers is having no place to go and no one left to go to. His is being with someone who is tearing him down while clinging to him and saying he is the best man ever, (very confusing messages coming from Tonks). Eventually Hermione and Remus will have no comfort zone left to fall into other than each other. It seems inevitable.Looking forward to more.

Perfect comment about the corners. They are both trapped in their own way. I hope you like the update!
Evidently, Tonks hasn't realized yet that the more she makes Hermione miserable with her displays of bitchy possessiveness, the angrier she makes Remus, who is also clearly getting extremely tired of being treated like "a f*cking house-elf".To me, it sounds like Remus and Tonks are headed for a major explosion when he confronts her about the way she's treating Hermione. And knowing Tonks, she'll undoubtedly blame Hermione for putting a wedge between herself and Remus, and it's only a matter of time, I suspect, before Tonks demands that Hermione leave. But I have a feeling Tonks might not like Remus' likely reaction to an ultimatum like that...
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Awesome comment, you are so in tune with the story! Thank you so much for reviewing.
Thanks to Remus to have cut Tonks'words and spare Hermione from another verbal agression. I don't think she would have cope well with it after all that's happened.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Hermione definitely is feeling overwhelmed. I can't even imagine, especially because Tonks is usually so sweet.
Figures Ron would think he could just show up and collect Hermione like nothing ever happened, arse that he is. Such a lucky thing that Remus was there to save Hermione from Ron's attack... as shocked as she was, Ron could have done her serious harm before she could even think of defending herself. And I agree, Hermione should file a report, just in case. But, given their previous longstanding friendship and the possible fallout, I can understand her reluctance to do so.As for Tonks, though she seems to be reining in her jealousy in the wake of Ron's attack, I have a feeling she's going to pounce on even the tiniest thing between Remus and Hermione, no matter how innocent. Makes one wonder if she's all over them because she's the one with something to hide...
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
I think that's the problem with on-again off-again relationships. It's hard for the other party to know when it's actually off-for-good. Ron definitely could have hurt her--Hermione never would have seen it coming.Interesting theory about Tonks having something to hide. :D
Tonks feels so insecure because she is probably cheating on Remus.I wish Hermione was more successful professional. It seems a shame that after the war and Hogwarts, having studied so hard, she is just an assistant. Can't wait for more.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
You're not the first person to say Tonks is cheating. Very interesting! There is actually a point to having Hermione have a horrible job (besides the fact that I wanted to do something different; most fics have her being something glamourous, but it doesn't always happen that way).
Please let her have a nice wedding. It doesn't have to be big but a dress and ring, maybe a cake shouldn't be to hard to get. I'm sure Remus would do anything for her happiness. And then she can have a proper wedding night...
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
*zips lips* I'm not saying anything!
Nice chapter, I think they should 'get married' after the bonding. This way Hermione will have no regrets and their friend will be back to normal quickly.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Thank you. :D And I totally agree with you.
It's lovely to see Remus and Hermione taking that next step along the commitment ladder, but I'm sure Remus would bend over backwards to give Hermione the white wedding she clearly wants if she would only ask... xXx
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Something she has yet to learn, sadly. :D
Bonding, marriage it's all the same thing to me and I love each of them. I can't wait to see how it will happen.
I'm not sure if I like the answer you came up with. Yes, Tonks and Ron probably 'sensed' that Remus and Hermione belong together but they are still people with full mental capacity. They should have been able to control themselves. Feelings are one thing, and don't need to be justified or explained. However, they do need to be dealt with and that is what the brain is for.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
That's a good point about about still having full mental capacity--I would argue that they didn't. Their instincts forced them to act in an animalistic way, overriding their common sense (and compounded, of course, by their personalities). More explanation coming up. :D
Really ! Can they spend an hour with their hands off of each other? They weill need to work and get some groceries sometimes.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Groceries are for Squibs. They have elves.Kidding, of course!it's no fun to write about groceries. It's all about the porn! :D
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
I did notice that. Not that I complain of course *wink* Where would be the fun if there weren't any lemons in stories...
Could Ron and Tonks have something wrong with them?
OMG !!!!!! I think it is currently too hot in my office and I deperately need air. That was sooooooo hot. I must I was slightly frustated after last chapter because it was short. But you make it up quite brilliantly with this one.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
LOL! Thank you. The chapters for this fic are short, which is why I'm posting twice-weekly instead of weekly as I usually do.
Sounds like there's plenty of happy sex going on at Grimmauld Place, but, if Hermione and Remus aren't careful, there will be babies on the way as well.
And I think Remus is right to worry that his desire to be with his mate will override the Wolfsbane... if Remus is struggling with the line between man and wolf right now, during the full moon he doesn't stand a chance.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
LOL Magic contraception, okay? Good point about Remus struggling--he is so scared and yet his instincts are so strong.
If they continue to shag like Nifflers in heat at every oprtunity, baby Lupin will be on his way before the next full moon. *grin*
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Magical contraception! *g*
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
I have only one word: UNFAIR. Take it as you like.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
There isn't much I can say that won't spoil the fic, so I'll just say... "Don't worry!" :D
Maybe Remus' repeat performance will encourage Ronald to think twice about turning up at Grimmauld Place again. But should Ron spot Hermione out without Remus around, I have a feeling all bets are off.Same with Tonks. I suspect that should she be released from custody, Tonks will go straight after Hermione. As for Hermione and Remus, things are definitely getting hot, hot, hot!!!
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Ron is definitely something of a slow learner in this fic. :DGlad you liked the chapter!
Things are definitely getting hotter. Now I'm going to have nice *cough, hot, cough* dreams. *innocent*
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
LOL Yep, things are getting intense for sure.
Oh my I didn't expect for that to happen so soon. Not that I complain of course *wink*. It's just strange to see Remus become so passionate when in my mind he is the kind and almost timid guy. But I think it's a nice change.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
This fic definitely gets into the heated stuff quickly, but there's lots of story left. He is definitely timid in my mind, as well. I just like to explore the more layered facets of his personality.
Very passionate. Now that they are together I look forward on how they will work together to build a relationship and a life with each other. They still have serious career issues.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Thanks! There is definitely lots of story left, their careers being a malor part of that.
Reading this latest chapter, I couldn't help but think that the contrast between Hermione and Tonks with regard to Remus couldn't be more glaringly stark. Hermione is reaching out to Remus and is accepting of him as both the man and the wolf, while Tonks was all about just getting what she wanted. I doubt very much if she thought about Remus himself and his basic needs, let alone his uniqueness as a werewolf. She might deal with werewolves on a regular basis as an auror, but caring and understanding one as a lover is a completely different thing. On another note, Remus completely claiming Hermione as his mate was incredibly hot and intense! The bad part is that the inevitable fallout is likely to be equally intense, considering Tonks' bald threats and Ron's jealousy. I doubt either one of them have given up on what they want, Remus and Hermione's needs and desires be damned.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
EXACTLY. So gratifying to be so clearly understood. Tonks isn't a bad person. She was just entirely wrong for Remus. But Hermione, in her calm, accepting nature, is perfect for him.I'm glad you liked the claiming. That was my favourite chapter.
I think Tonks is playing all wrong. By doing the talk, as she put it, she might have push them together. And seeing her real personality makes me very less sorry that she'll be kicked out soon.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
That's the truth that people with jealoisy issues will never understand. Thank you so much for reading!
Good God, talk about territorial! Tonks just had to make Hermione even more uncomfortable when she's already feeling desperately out of place. No wonder the poor girl could barely eat. And I doubt Tonks will apologize, at least not sincerely, as she clearly doesn't think she did anything wrong. My guess is that Hermione will probably try to avoid Remus for awhile, at least when Tonks is around. If Tonks ends up losing Remus to Hermione, it will be due to her thoughtless behavior and it will be richly deserved.
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
That's the thing with Tonks--she just doesn't get that she's acting a little crazily. I'm so glad you're reading, and thank you so much for the thoughtful review!
I can see they are already attracted to each other. I'm sorry for Tonks, unless she's very open or wants to join in...
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Uh, no. Tonks is so not invited to this party. LOL
Oh what an interesting beginning to the story! Remus and Tonks have always been favorites of mine, but I can see the possibility of Remus and Hermione too. Looking forward to more:)
Response from LiteraryBeauty (Author of Hope's Span is Long)
Thank you! Tonks takes a bit of a beating in this fic, but stick with it! I promise it's worth it. :D
