I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.
Reviews for Dark Veela
Molly is kind of right, but she's being really nasty here.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much for the review. Yes, she is right, but there's more going on than what is obvious.
who would have thot i would be on fleur's side. i, along with arthur, am disapointed with their reaction but not terribly surprised. thanks for the terrific update and mucho smoochies
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for the review. Yes, Fleur is one of the few Weasleys who doesn't have the taint of Dark Magic clouding her thinking and bringing out her worst qualities. Arthur, has because he was bitten by Nagini, learned to deal with his own Darkness.
facinating, seeing the press conference from the two perspectives. and how very slytherin of lucius and his predatory look! superb update. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for the review,I'm so glad you enjoyed the different perspectives. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.
I'm starting to get the impression that the Weasley's will be taking a back seat in this story (at the very least). Hermione does not have a high opinion of Ginny here. I am enjoying this very much.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for the review,You're so right. They will be taking a relatively back seat but, they are still important for the way in which the plot will develop. I don't think it is true that Hermione does not like her - more that they never really had anything in common other than circumstance and other people who they were close to.
Oh dear. All Draco's failings are now coming home to roost! :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for the review,Yes, I think Draco is going to have to change significantly in light of all that he's learned.
Great idea to hold a press conference. And now it's official. Not only is Snape vindicated, no one will be prosecuted for their acts during the war.
LOL, loved that last part.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much for the review.I'm so pleased you like the concept so far. Much gratitude and hugsxxx
I'm liking your Luna. A lot! :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much. I'm so pleased you like my Luna.
I don't agree that the engagement be kept secret. Hermione had to prove her virginity for the formal contract. Narcissa told her that long engagements were common under these circumstances, and anyone seeing Hermione and Severus together could see that they were attracted to each other. It would have been better to indicate that the contract negotiations began over the summer, before Hermione had decided to return to school. That the Heads of House knew and were chaperoning all interactions. And have the staff be fully aware. Severus is headmaster – not her actual teacher and is not at all responsible for her grades. If it’s only announced after she leaves Hogwarts(graduates) then it will be a very quick engagement and that could cause a scandal! Plus she should have told harry and Ron herself. They should have been at the dinner! Harry ocudl always say that he’d known all along his friend had fallen for the dower man over the summer and that Severus’ slow formal courtship really amused him, and point out that they were together at all those Christmas balls/parties. “If you couldn’t see it – you’re blind.”
And why not have McGonagall put Ginny in detention in the greenhouses if she causes a scene about it — or have Hermione throw in her face the fact that she is a virgin, not a used toy again. Surely Susan and Hannah coud spread rumors too about how proper all of this was being conducted, how fastidious Severus was being holding to the old customs? Cut the gossip off at the roots so it can’t turn into a weed, my grandmother used to say.
Great food choices by-the-way!
However the meeting I applaud. Molly was being so tactless! I’m so glad she was put in her place.
Great chapter. …moving onto the next one
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hi,All good thoughts really, but I must admit I didn't think them so you have what you have :)I'm glad to get such insight though and it really is helping me formulate further plot action.xxx
With all this talk about Luna seeing auras, I'm shocked that she can't see a problem with Severus' arua. Due to the dark Veela curse, it should leave a mark, no?Things are definately going well.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
That's a good point, but I think because she's always seen the darkness over him and because it is something that was part of him from birth that she probably thinks it is just the way he is. A dark aura as apposed to one that is altered due to ones actions and so on. Again, just because he has the darkness of the Veela curse on him doesn't mean that it's still not then also altered because of the Dark Magic he's used. And she does say he's beautiful - she's the kind that would see the beauity in his darkness, even without having fallen for him :)
Loved the last inner thoughts of ROn. About boody time, and I'm glad he's come to his senses. Molly and Ginny are going to be a pill. Hope it gets sorted out too.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Glad you liked Ron's change. Yes, about time. Molly and Ginny are going to take longer though. But sort things out - well the Order and Hermione and Severus have a lot of friends, friends who want to make things better for them all.
Oh YES!!! Engaged to be - I'm thrilled with Lucius. And I admit, I was utterly shocked by Mr. Weasley, Bill and Percy brave act and reach for peace. Utter, shocked and amzaed.Giny, really, she thoguht that with her 'boyfriend' ignoring her she was going to get a ring? Daft cow. Not likeing her in this, but as you protray her, I'm not supposed to. I'm getting sick of Molly's 'dark side' I admit. and Ron's attitude - why in hades isn't Auror Training teaching him to balance himself and his dark arts residual? Are his training instructor incompentant?Great chapter loved it!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello lovely,I'm so glad you're enjoying the story and the chapter.Molly is really mired in the darkness and it will take time for her to see the light. But Ron's about to wake up and get with the programme. Ginny, well, wait and see - I've got a wonderful way of making her come back to the wonderful person she has the potential to be.I know, isn't it fun to see Lucius being so very much himself, but in a completely different light? Did you get the almost James Bondesque bit with the smoke rings?I must sort out my betaing so that I can post more. I've got I think more chapters up on fanfiction.net.
Response from beaweasley2 (Reviewer)
Actually, I thought the smoke ring was symbolism for his true intent, as in wedding ring. But yes, I noticed.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Wow. I hadn't thought of it in that sense. You're bloody brilliant you are. Do you have time to beta?
Can he find the one? :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for leaving a review. What do you think? Do you think any woman would be able to resist the concentrated efforts of a determined Severus Snape, lauded hero and spy?Hope you enjoy the rest of the story.xxx
Well... that's something! I loved the tale. I now that things can't be quick and easy. That end though, having an heir. Hopefully he can find love himself and forgo heirs for the sake of curses.
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
OK, that made no sense. I think my brain took a break while I wrote that. I meant that it was a bit sad that it might come down to him having an heir.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much for leaving a review [two in fact],I think Severus is perfectly capable of finding true love and producing a few heirs. I know I'd be willing to help anytime :PUltimately though, if he does find true love and it is reciprocated the curse will be broken, so that if they do then have children, the offspring will not inherit the curse.xxx
Hi, just a note to encourage you to update when the time is right. I love this story but I also know when you have school deadlines (I am currently working on my masters theisis/project) those take priority. Good luck on that. I will keep checking on the update!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much for the review. Good luck with your masters. What are you doing it in?As for the story, as soon as my thesis is done, I am going to work flat out on completing it. Promise :)
Response from joyfulheart (Reviewer)
It will be a Master of Science in GIS (Geographic Information Systems). It's a technology degree in what can best be described as map making with computers, of course it's a whole lot more than that. I think when I'm done I my try my hand at writing a fic for this site.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Well good luck with your masters. It sounds really interesting. In one of my past manifestations I worked as a Science Writer/Communications Officer for the HQ of the International Water Management Institute. They used a lot of GIS stuff for their research. So I acutally know what you're talking about :)
what a thoroughly intriguing story! i can't wait to see how you spin it out. smoochies of thanks
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review.I'm so glad you've enjoyed the story thus far. Fingers crossed that you like the rest as well.xxx
OMG, the concept behind this is wonderful! I like the beginning too. You've laid down concisely why Lily was no good for him and how Albus' relationship with him probably was. Looking forward to more.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello,Thank you for the review. It's lovely to have a review by someone whose work I've read and admired. I hope I do justice to the concept and that you enjoy the rest.Best,Tasneem
That's an interesting theory. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello,Thank you, I do appreciate the review.I hope the rest of the story lives up to the theory.BestT

Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello,Thank you so much for taking the time to review.I'm surprised the premise hasn't been picked up before this, but I am glad to get first dibs.I hope you do enjoy the rest.Best,T
This story is great fun to read. I look forward to the next installment.....hopefully soon!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I was almost at the end of chapter 38 but now it has got to be pushed back because I had a meeting with my PhD supervisors yesterday. Rewriting and restructuring of my chapter for that is needed in the next 3 weeks unfortunately. So please be patient. I do apologise.
I am truly ejoying this story. Your interweaving of pure blood tradition with hg/ss pairing is a great read. Onto the next chapter.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I'm so pleased you're enjoying the story and still reading.
I am glad he stood up for her. Unfortunately the weasley clan are know to have their mom's temper and the dark would only worsen that.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you for the review. Yes. I really wanted to explore what happens when good people are affected by the Dark. If it had been anyone else, it wouldn't have been so much of a big deal, but because it is the Weasleys, who throughout canon have been seen as inherently good, despite their flaws, I think it makes it more powerful.
Yea, severus is awake. Great look into the malfoy family, this is very much how i imained them post war. Smart and alwys looking for the political edge. I like the idea of luna being royalty, how fun.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. I adore Luna. She is one of my favourite minor characters. I wanted to show her pureblood heritage, and also bring out how Draco had been immature and ignorant on more than one aspect of the culture he seemed so proud about. I also wanted to explore how the war had made people like Luna, Hermione and Harry grow up and face reality.
So glad you mentioned in your ashwinder reviews that the story continued here. I am really enjoying this.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I really am glad you are following me here. I do hope you continue to enjoy the story.
I loved the way they handled the press and, in turn, the Ministry.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I really wanted to ensure they got their version of things out. I didn't want the Ministry to suddenly claim all the glory.
Very interesting. I haven't read a story that follows this path. I look forward to seeing where you take it.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. I've written a lot more but with a beta posting chapters is hard.
