I really love the slow 'build up' of the relationship in this story and the fact that they both seem to have so much respect for one another as well as a mutual need of one another.  I've enjoyed this update and look forward to more! :-)

"Leave these walls?" he said. "This is my home."  I can see why the thought of going someplace other than Hogwarts would cause Severus to say that.  If he is 42 years old, then that means he has spent the better part of 30 years there.  Most of his memories are tied to the castle... good and bad... and it would be difficult to decide to leave all that behind.  It is practically all he knows in the way of a home.When he offered to make a room for her and move one of the beds into it, I wasn't at all surprised that she wanted to "wait a bit and see what we can do for you first."  I think she likes being so close to him, being separated only by the curtain that closes off his bed.  She needs to be close to him, just as he welcomes having her nearby.I think a house in the country would be a wonderful idea if Severus can bring himself to leave the only real home he has ever had.  Some fresh air and sunshine might be just the thing to help both of them heal from the terrible ordeals of the war.  But first, they must brew the potion that will heal him, and then they may be able to further heal each other.Great chapter!  Beth

This is perfect, Jeannie!  I love the tentative way Severus and Hermione are coming to understand each other.  Everyone who survived was changed in a myriad of ways, and it seem only natural to me that their conversation would take on a more personal tone.  Caring for each other as friends will bring both of them the hope they need to go on.  And who knows, maybe there are other levels of caring to be explored.I love this story.  You've done a great job with it, and now I'm off to read the next chapter!Beth

ummm.. while well written, I feel like I totally missed something.  In the previous 2 chapters, there was no mention of "Raven" and I just noticed you have another wip by the name of Raven.  Perhaps the chapters for each story were switched?  I, of course, will re-read the first two chapters again.  Maybe I am wrong...

I love stories that offer hope and this has that in abundance.  It is also really touching and (unlike so many others) totally believable: If Snape survived Nagini's bite (if only!) it could well have been much like this; certainly he would have isolated himself even more than before and kept away from everyone; becoming a total recluse.  His injuries made me want to cry.I was impressed by your other story - Raven - and, having just reviewed that, thought I would see what else you had written.  I'm glad I did as this too is really good; I look forward to more :-)

Maybe she can help that voice too.  Poor guy, he's been through so much and was so in the dark as to what happened after his attack.  I'm glad Hermione is helping.

Very sweet. It's funny how in just one moment something can break or change our lives forever. In this case one traumatic event to break them and another to bring them together...changing their lives, yet again, but definitely for the better - and more completely this time.
