How did Snape find the strength for casting the Killing Curse on Albus Dumbledore? And why does he always look so nastily greasy? This is a missing scene, set a few months before the final events in the tower.

Reviews for Obliviate
Wrenching and horrifying. Of course no one would ever behave as Snape does and care for themselves so little unless they were abused beyond reason. Very interesting premise, and actually one I find believable.

Thank you. It was not easy to write it, I know it is not easy to read it.
I don't really like the brutalness and rape scenes as you have here, but this is a very powerfully written piece. The true crueliy of Dumbledore removing the memories only because it serves his purpose is so errily terrifying and cold. This story makes you think - no wonder Severus is like he is. Chilling, sick and yes, in the end you end up pittying Severus all the more.

I didn't like writing it, but I had to. Thank you very much for reviewing!
Oh wow. You portray the emotions and undercurrents so well. It is actually quite frightening to see how uncaring Dumbledor is towards Severus. It is still all about the greater good with him.Very powerful fic.

Thank you!
Wow. You portray the torture and the hurt so well. Very nicely done.

Thank you. It was not easy, but the story nagged me until I had it written down.
A very good portayal of a " The End Justifies The Means" Dumbledore. Lucius is a better friend tha Dumbledore!
Response from chivalric (Author of Obliviate)
I always considered Malfoy and Snape as friends. And that D. is not as nice as everyone had thought became obvious after book seven. Thanks for reviewing!
A very grim look at the relationship between Snape and Dumbledore, but one I can't help but give some credence to. You've told a very compelling and dark story. I agree with your previous reviewer who said she thought that Dumbledore's Obliviate was almost worse than the torture: I tend to agree. This will haunt me for a long time. Beautifully done.

! This story wanted to be written, and I am glad that you've read and reviewed it.
OMG! What a powerful, horrible story. It leaves me breathless, it's THAT terrible and moving. It's not my cup of tea, not the sort of story I normally read, (especially at night!) But I have decided to attempt to read every entry in the Challenge, so I read through it and was appalled at the cruelty, the ruthless cruelty of Snape's ostensible friends. Creepy when Lucius is kinder than Dumbledore. ---Excellently written. Horrifying.

Somehow, it is odd to get credits for such a horrible story. I usually don't write dark fics, but this one needed to be written. At night, if I may tell you :-)Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Very original and dark. Dumbledore is more ruthless than people think. After Book 7, I couldn't see him the same way anymore. Your imagery was fantastic.Good job!Livvy

Thank you. It's the first dark fic I've written, but certainly not the last one. I tend to write a sequel to that one, after the voting.
Oh, my. This was so intense, and I felt absolutely terrible for Severus. I think probably more terrible for the Obliviate than what happened to him. In the end, that is probably the greater crime. Excellent, excellent story. Thank you.
Response from chivalric (Author of Obliviate)
I agree - because it shows that his only friend isn't really his friend and because D. doesn't care if Snape gets broken. He has to serve the cause, whatever the cost - and that after Snape has already given everything he had for D.Thank you so much for reviewing!
What a heartwrenching story! Makes me so sad!!! Very well done.
Response from chivalric (Author of Obliviate)
Thank you so much!
Thats HORRIFIC! Albus, you bastard! How could you... how... oh, poor, poor man....*Sniffle*

Your review reminds me that I have to write the sequel for this - it's calling, but I just don't have the time right now. Thank you for reading this although it is really horrible.
