Just obsessive. Nothing more.
Reviews for The Long Journey to Right
So very sad! But speaking as one familiar with what ALzherimer's can do to a person, and who believes that after death comes something better, I agree with Hermione's assertion to Hugo: "everthing is finally right!"*sniffs*

Thank you! :)
Sad but beautiful....excellent.

Was it enuthinasia then is that why Hugo got cold feet?PS: I have no sympathy for Ron bailing on his wife.
Response from sc010f (Author of The Long Journey to Right)
It could have been - it could also have been that he felt that they were imprisoning her in the portrait. I know Ron doesn't come off very well in this, but unfortunately, his reaction is very human. Thank you for your review! :)
Sad story, the nice thing is Hermione didn't know something was wrong with her mind.

I think that's the hardest part about dealing with that situation, sometimes, the person doesn't know while you do. Thank you for your review. :)
A powerful series of drabbles that should comfort those who have had to help parents or relatives with Alzheimer's or dementia. Very well done!
Response from sc010f (Author of The Long Journey to Right)
Thank you very much, it's never an easy situation to deal with. . .
How sad. I like that they ended up in the portrait together, though.

Thank you for your review - it's never an easy subject. I wanted Hermione to recover somehow . . .
You did a good job with the dialogue-only approach. The story made me kind of wistful -- there's no portrait where I can put my father -- but it's a nice thought that there could be such an option in the magical world. Thanks for your work!

Thank you. I have family in this situation, and it's never easy . . .
very nice ending, hopefully her mental faculties will be better as a portrait!
Response from sc010f (Author of The Long Journey to Right)
I hope so! Thanks for your review!
Oh how bittersweet this is - heartbreaking to see and yet there's a kindness here and the interactions and dialogue are just so well-written.

Thank you so much!
I just love the idea of portrait Severus watching over her, and then the two of them joined in oily union forever. Beautiful story, dear Scoffy.

Thank you very much. I'm still not sure I'm up to writing portrait sex, however. Acryics, oils, or otherwise. *grins*

It is hard to get really deep penetration in two dimensions. Very, very hard.*grin*
Response from sc010f (Author of The Long Journey to Right)
Yeah, and I suppose that personal dryness could be an issue. *ducks*

As the sealant gets old, it ceases to act as an effective barrier, allowing for all sorts of nasty complications. *hides behind you*

Oh, also, question. As this was posted at GS100, I guess there's an implicit SS/HG here, right? Sev does seem to care quite a lot about her, after all. (~snerk~ Vague and unsubtle attempt (rendered even more unsubtle by this note) to figure out what 'ship category I'd put you in if I wanted to nominate this for Best Drabble Series at The New Library!)
Author's Response: Wow. *is flattered you'd even consider this*
I'd sail on the SS/HG 'ship with this, I think. . .
*blushes*
Angel Mischa's response: Yay! :-D

Loves this. Muchly. LOL What a great job you did with all the dialogue!
Author's Response: Thank you! And thank you so much for the help! :)
It's so sad she has this terrible disease as such a young age. Wonderfully written.
Response from sc010f (Author of The Long Journey to Right)
Thanks!
A lovely sentiment and a lovely conclusion.

Thank you!:)
This one opened my floodgates. Sometimes we all need a good cry, well written and beautiful!
Ahhhh. I'm a complete pushover for a sentimental story, and this one was lovely. It was so sad how she kept calling Hugo "Harry". I'm glad you gave us a happy ending. :)

What a beautifully written story. I have lost someone to Alzheimer's disease, and it can be devastating on everyone. I love the way you have provided for Hermione to be cared for—forever. Severus will be very good company.Beth
