this is a gorgeous story. very sweet and sad. i find young!severus so heartbreaking, and you captured him so well here. and his burst of magic to make her the perfect valentine present was lovely, though bittersweet, as your last line attests. altogether beautiful.

Aw, that is so sweet and sad. I despise Valentines Day because of the whole commercialism thing, but that is really getting to the underlying spirit of the thing.
