HBP--the way it should have been written. Written for the January '08 SS/HG Exchange. Canon-compliant all the way through DH, sans the epilogue.

I hate writing autobiographies...
My name is Emily, I'm 25 years old, and I'm from Boston.
I write SS/HG and nothing else, with the exception of SS/HG/LM.
My biggest WIP is In Times of War, and it will come to completion at about 125,000 words.

Reviews for Amnesty
Loved this chapter - it was good - the spewy lady thing was cute. I almost thought he was not going to kiss her. If his dark mark had not burned, I wonder what would have happened between them ... do not give Severus much time to think or he will talk himself right out of happiness.

hehe. Very true. Severus tends to doubt his self-worth far too often, doesn't he?Thank you again for reviewing!
The end of this chapter made me giggle--thanks, I needed that! Ah, progress, how I love thee. I only hope Hermione will realize what Severus means when the time comes for the Order to lose their faith in him. Lovely chapter and I can't wait for more!
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
Unfortunately, she does indeed find out what he means. I had to keep all the au stuff compliant with the canon work, after all =)Thank you for the lovely review again!
ah, I love it.

Aw, thank you! I appreciate the review!
This was a wonderful chapter - Hermione's confession in so few words, Snape's reaction. And then their talk afterwards. They're both being so honest about the emotions between them and the difficulties of their situation (regarding the student-teacher relationship as well as regarding the war and Snape's ambiguous position in it and possibly after it). I'm very glad you did not have them make love immediately after that first kiss. Not only because this is a better way of building the tension story-wise, but it's much more convincing within the context. Can't wait to see the next chapter!

Ooo another fantastic review!I agree with you on the sex stance. I hate fics where they hate each other one minute and are falling into bed together the next. There needs to be a foundation. Thank you for reviewing!
A brilliant update! I just love the way you present Hermione and Severus, how you let them get to know eachother, like eachother, and by the looks of things, fall in love with eachother:-) I also am totally addicted to the view you are letting "your" Hermione have on the friendship, or at times, lack thereof, between her, Harry and Ron. Girls get earlier mature than boys, that is a known fact, and when the girl in question is more or less born mature, and the boys, especially Ron, is very immature for their age, it doesn't make any sense that she would carry any romantic feelings for any of them. (And I do so hate the idea of her being paired with Ron...) Friendship and loyalty yes, she is a Gryffindor and it is the kind of person she is, but I love how you make her see their faults, and still being a more loyal friend to them than they at times deserve!!! I would have given you 10 stars just for the episode where Hermione told Ron what she would do if he ever interfered with her mail or messages. Finally someone gave her the spine to lay down the law and put bondaries on their relationship. To many fics present her more or less as a "doormat" until their let her grow a backboone at the end of the story, I love to read a story where she shows selfrespect, currage and brain from the start. And, quite frankly, her stating the bondaries for how she will let her self be treated would for me be the only thing that can make them true friends (when and if Ron finally grows up some day and accept that friendship is what she has to offer, and that they will never be anything else, and that they are way to different to ever be happy with eachother.:-)). Update again soon, I am very addicted to your story and will get annoying rashes if the next chapter takes to long:-))

Wow.o.0That was some review!Thank you for all that! I had a wonderful time writing this story. I also love the idea of a take-charge Hermione, and my Hermione is always written that way. Yes, Severus is her teacher, so there will be less of a backbone present at times, but she is a strong woman, and she will show it. Thank you for such a wonderful and thorough review. You will be happy to know that Chapter Seven should be up shortly =)
I like this story a lot. I love that Severus was the first one to slip up and call Hermione by her first name. Because this is only written in Hermione's POV, it really tells a lot of what is going on in his head. I absolutely love that you've kept this true to canon while telling a completely different story for Hermione. Very good and I can't wait for more!

Thank you! I had a wonderful time writing this, even if it did require a lot of research and re-reading with HBP. I have the next chapter in the queue already =)Thank you for the review!

I loved the latest chapter - from the way the professors treated her when they invited her to go to the hospital while they administered the potion to Katie to the way Severus came to her rescue and hexed the student to protect her. It was a great read.. cannot wait for the next chapter.

Thank you for such a wonderful and inciteful review. It certainly puts a smile on my face knowing that you liked it =)

I usually don't review until I've finished reading all uploaded chapters, but I couldn't not review this chapter. Thank you, so much, for imprinting the image of Severus all wet and mostly naked. Yum. All right, on to Chapter 5.
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
Aw, you're quite welcome. Who wouldn't want that image placed somewhere in a fic? hehe. Thanks for the review =)

I have only just now stumbled upon this story, but it is increasingly intriguing! I love your characterization of Snape, very canon, and yet, with a dash of something else that isn't portrayed in the books very often... I think... humor. Yes, the sense of humor, very dry, and very funny. Brilliant!
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
I have always loved the tiny little bits of Snape's dry humour that JKR allows us to view, if in gross moderation, in the books. He is a brilliant, sensible man, and his humour reflects as much. Thank you, so very much, for your review. I loved the feedback =D

Ah, I do like that set up. And I really do enjoy the interactions between Severus and Hermione.

I am interested to see what you will think of the next two chapters... a lot takes place in the following installments.
Already in queue, by the way ;)
Thank you again for reviewing!
good take on the party
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
Thank you very much. That was a difficult scene to work out, but a fun one as well.
I look forward to seeing what you think of the rest of it =)
Can't wait to find out what happens over christmas break! Keep up the good work - no doubt i'll be keeping an eye out for updates on this one! :)

It's in the queue, dear! Thank you for a lovely review. I look forward to seeing what you think of the holiday...
Cool story! Nice to see things from H's point of view, and nice to see her as a round, developing character instead of a flat one (no offense, JKR!). And regards pairings, this definitely seems headed into the right direction!

Oooo thank you! That was a lovely review! I do hope you will stay tuned for more =)
just read this stroy last night, really enjoying it, hope you plan to continue.
I am so captivated by your story...oh how I love Professor Snape. Glad to see him so human. You do a great job keeping him his normal, angst ridden, snarky self while portraying a softer side that is believable - something many other fanfics dont. Please update soon. I can't wait to see what happens next.

What has happened to you acciobook7? I am dying to read more! Can't imagine why you would abandon this story. It is great.
Oh, that really did burn her bum, having Harry beat her again. I was inpressed on how you used shadow to create effect and the way Snape moved about.
The tutoring lesson was brilliant, and how Snape made her think for herself.
Looking forward to the next.
This is very well written. I've been captivated from the first sentence, and now I'm DYING to read future chapters. I was especially pleased at how well you wrote Hermione's response - I could feel the pain of rejection she was feeling. Bravo!
Please keep writing, you're very talented.
Great chapter - I loved the idea that Dobby provided the book with the ingredient. It was funny that she walked in on him in the bathroom and....
she liked what she saw. Hmmmmm.
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
LOL!
I'm glad you liked this chapter! I liked the idea of Dobby as a bit of comic relief, and she simply had to like what she saw... it is Sev, after all ;)
Thank you for reading, and especially for reviewing! I certainly appreciate the feedback =)
Ooh, Snape in a towel.

Thank you for reviewing!
I'm really enjoying this story and this was a great chapter. The interaction between Snape and Hermione is well done both in the tutoring sessions and day-to-day interaction. You have me wondering about Dumbledore's motives, though. Why is he so keen on Hermione's impressions of her tutoring sessions? Why did he want them to happen in the first place?
Also, you don't seem to be mentioning Dumbledore's cursed hand. At least Hermione isn't wondering what caused it. And Dumbledore seems to be using his hands easily. I know the injury is supposed to exist in this story so you might want to call more attention to it than you have so far.
Regardless, that's a minor quibble in a fabulous story. Keep up the great work!
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
I am trying to remember whether I mention the gnarled hand in this chapter or the last... but I did stick it in there somewhere =)
You have am impressive attention to detail!
I'm very glad that you are liking this so far. I definitely appreciate the feedback as well.
Thank you for reviewing! I do hope you stay tuned for future chapters =)
Just read all three chapters this is freaking fabulous please post more soon.
Response from acciobook7 (Author of Amnesty)
I'm so pleased to see that you like it!
And the next chapter is already in the queue... fourth for validation, if I am not mistaken.
Thank you so much for reviewing!
