my catalyst into the world of hp fanfic was the ignominious death of severus snape by snakebite in dh. grrrrr. he deserved better, and i set off on a mission to find it! i appreciate and admire the vast and limitless creativity of all of the wonderful writers on this site and in this fandom.
accordingly, for me it's mostly about snape: ss/le, ss/hg, ss/rl are my favorite ships. i especially like happy endings for those who did not get them at the hands of jkr.
Reviews for Once Upon a Meditation
One of the other reviewers wanted tp know more about the blossoms. But if they are contemplated, then the mind is no longer still. As my favorite sage, Ramana Maharshi, would say, "just be." And let the blossoms be. And don't think about out.I have practiced meditation for several years and I still have trouble quieting my mind. But once in a while it happens. When it does, the feeling is worth the wait.

that's just so odd - i know i responded to this review, yet here it is unresponded to. i guess the internet ate my response. :( thank you so much for this lovely review. it's nice when someone reads the poetry and comments, but when you really get it, that's even nicer. yes, that feeling of stillness is so worth it when it comes, isn't it? :)
This is so short and so incredibly poignant. I don't think I've ever read so much in so few words. Well, well done!I came across your work by following your name when you left this lovely review to one of my stories. Please, do write some more. Poetry, story, whatever; I will read it happilly.

thank you so much for your lovely and encouraging review. i appreciate it all the more having read your recent story.i have started working on a one-shot that's sort of snapshots of severus and lily's friendship. it's my first foray into fanfic, and it's hard to know whether it's actually got any merit. *clears throat nervously* any chance you'd be interested in giving it a quick once-over just to see if you think it's got any potential? how presumptuous of me, but there's no harm in asking, i hope? ladyinthecloak's response: I'd be happy to look at it. Of course you're right, there's no harm in asking, and unless you ask you won't know. :-)
and what do those blossoms look like, smell like? Are they vibrant and full or soft gentle buds? Is their fragrance pungent or gentle as meadow breeze? When, we are lost in our mind the blossoms may vary......I enjoyed this poem as it leaves much open to the readers interpretations. Congratulations on your first posting! Irish

Thank you, Irish. Now I suspect I will find myself pondering the answers to all those questions you asked. I think I sort of took the blossoms for granted. Thanks for your inspiration and support, which made me finally get up the courage to take the plunge and post this!
The English professor in me wants to analyze this in so many ways. Love the flow. Original :)

Thank you so much! It means a lot, especially coming from you, whose work I very much admire. (Yay! My first ever review! So exciting!)
You've managed to pack a lot into very few words. Beautifully done.

Thank you so much for reading and for your kind review! This is the first thing I ever posted, so the positive feedback is very encouraging.
That was brilliant--but now, I am left thinking that I think too much, and that makes me feel rather sad.
Response from kittylefish (Author of Once Upon a Meditation)
thanks for the compliment - but don't feel sad! it's human nature to think too much. that's why sometimes it's such a relief to pay attention to the spaces in between the thoughts instead. notice i don't say in the poem how long that feeling lasted before the thoughts started up again. ; )
