Thank you for NOT describing "the dress" but instead leaving it up to the reader's imagination - while leaving much LESS up to Severus' imagination!
And I am filling in the blank with my mother's eggnog, which is terribly tasty and ONLY for adults.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
*grins*As always I'm madly glad that you liked that! I was a bit nervous about leaving the dress to the reader's imagination but it seems to have worked and I'm just thrilled. I'd tried a similar stunt in another fandom... hmm... maybe the Potterverse is just smarter, lmao! Only kidding, but I really am pleased.

I read something recently that was extremely well written but that happened to describe a particular piece of clothing in some detail, and the description just wasn't doing it for me. It took me right out of the story, because my mind was struggling to picture what in heaven's name she was trying to to talk about. It was probably something quite beautiful in her mind, but she somehow couldn't convey it to me, and all I was getting sounded like a "Project Discovery" disaster.
And I do believe you're right about Potterverse readers, especially those in this particulat ship - I know the writing for these two smart people is usually very smart, which is why I read so much of it. Thanks for continuing a proud tradition!
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
That's what always worries me when it comes to aesthetics when you write: just for a start, my idea of what's lovely and your idea of what's lovely just aren't (probably) going to be the same thing. Then there's always the risk of sounding like a textbook (eeeh, the same old problem with smut - who wants to end up with an "insert A into B" type thing?). I have to agree with you that HGSS shippers do seem on the whole to be up there with the brains, lol! Erm, not that I'm saying I'm brilliant but, eh, you know what I mean. I suppose I've noticed that there seem to be real personality differences between the different pairing-supporters - just look at the difference between HGSS and HGDM followers. Someone should write a thesis on it! Anyway... thanks for the compliment of considering me continuing the "proud tradition"! I'm blushing all over!!

Huge sigh of contentment.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Your sigh of contentment is music to my ears! *hugs*
I KNEW it. Even the house elves want our boy to be happy. Joyous Noel!*Grins until face hurts.*

Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
's face so it doesn't hurt*And... of course they do! House-elves are very wise little fellows you know! They know what's good for our boy even if he doesn't! LOL.
Oh, this is Choice! Dont know where it's goin' but I'm definitely along for the ride. ^_^

What a lovely, romantic series of drabbles. Very well done!
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Thank you so very much!!
Very nice romantic story. Enjoyed it!!!
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
*HUGS* and thank you!
Oh now then. That is a perfect last line.
Brava! Lovely! I love it.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Weee, thanks! (P.S. Oh, my! I don't think I've every looked at the emoticons here properly before. LOVE the dudes with the pitchforks, lol!)
That's a lovely place to end it. Not that I'm against smutfests, far from it. But sometimes a story reads better ending in a kiss.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Oh, I'm particularly glad that you said that! I just wasn't sure I could pull off smut in drabble yet and so... I'm relieved that you think it was a nice spot to end it. *hugs*
Lovely, I loved it!!
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
*bounces happily*Thanks! So glad you liked it!
nice. if you just heard a deep, satisfied sigh, that was me. thanks for a lovely story.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Awwww.... *sighs too*
Brilliant set of drabbles (sorry I haven't reviewed each chapter).
Especially loved the last line..........intoxicated..........that made my heart soar with fluffiness (if there is such a word). Guess I'm getting mushy in my old age
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Aw, thank you so very much! I'm so glad you liked it and I'm over the moon about your fluffiness!! (That sounds weird... but you know what I mean!) *HUGS*
Good job. I liked it a lot. Short and sweet.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Thanks!
That...was so fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Intoxicated indeed. This was a really great story, full of fluff, and amusing bits, and hott bits, and everything in between bits. Kudos to you!
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
I... cannot believe how lovely everyone has been about this set of drabble! Thanks so much! Big hugs, Jen.
Oh, that was just so sweet! Thanks for sharing, drabbles always make my day...
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
You're sweet too! *hugs* Jen.
Fabulous story! You did a great job.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Thanks!!!
His not the only one intoxicated. So are all the reviewers who have read this story. And it's a good kind of intoxication. The kind you get addicted to. So you will just have to write another story real soon. To feed our hunger. Until next time.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Ohhhhh, you beautiful person!! Thank you so much for the encouragement, it's priceless. *big hugs* Jen.
I could see why a smile would confuse and dismay Minty. She probably hasn't ever seen one on Snape's face before.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
I doubt many people have, poor Minty, lol!
You know, I could vividly imagine him stretching, with an aghast looking elf staring in the background...
Aw...
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
An image I was rather fond of imagining myself, if I may say so myself. More the Severus stretching and less the elf, ahem... Poor Minty. *grins*
Lovely!
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Hello, Poppet, fancy meeting you here! *grins*
Embracing the unknown. What a fabulous toast.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Hmm, it is rather a lovely one. It's the lovely thing about this pair, you can put all sorts of lofty delightful nonsense in their mouths and not make it too preposterous. I mean, could you imagine that with ickle Ronnikins? *laughs*
Response from mia madwyn (Reviewer)
You make an excellent point.
"I'm not being professored all evening with you dressed like that."
I love that we don't even know what the dress looks like except that we KNOW what it must look like. Squeee.
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Oh, I'm glad you liked that! Aesthetics are so very individual, soooo, I chickened out and let everyone imagine what they wished and it seems to have worked!!
This story is ridiculously adorable so far! (Um, that's a good thing.)
Response from Jenwryn (Author of A Prince Family Recipe)
Oh, I'm glad that's a good thing! *grins happily*
glad to see this properly archived :D

*grins* Things to tend to get lost (at least as far as my lame little brain can follow them) over at gs100... besides, I like the reviews, LOL!
