Overcome with despair, Severus wishes he’d never survived the final battle. A compassionate angel shows him what the world would be like if he’d never lived.
The story is based on and borrows heavily from the film of almost the same name, Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life. Rating is for imagery. Mostly DH compliant, but still EWE.

I am amazed and enthralled with the Harry Potter universe, with the emphasis on Snape. HG/SS is my favorite ship (you have been warned). I like sci-fi ? Star Wars, Quantum Leap, Star Trek, and Ray Bradbury to name a few. Horror also catches my interest as in Stephen King. I am a married, mother of two teenagers, multiple pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, turtle), and I work way too many hours. The rest is window dressing and subject to change without notice. I am also on staff on a wonderful new site called Playwitch. Visit when you get a minute: WWW.Playwitch.net

awwww, that was so sweet.
awwww I laughed way too hard and love the twist you put on it for a second I thought that harry was going to be some evil twisted dude or something
lovely, just lovely. this is one of my favorite christmas things to use in various fandoms. thank you so much.
thanks for posting good one
Wouldn't it have been nice if anyone in the Wizarding World had cared like this? Albus simply used Snape's guilt. Hermione Granger walked away from a dying Snape without lifting a wand. Yes, the Wizarding World would have been far worse off without him--but you can tell from the Epilogue that Albus Severus never heard of his second namesake, and is terrified of catching Slytherin cooties once he knows. Maybe Snape _is_ better off dead, given Rowling's world. The only Slytherins she actually allowed to prosper are the Malfoys, which only goes to show you that money really is the only thing that matters to her. And the Gryffindors who survive now think that Unforgivables are just fine, as long as they're the only ones who get to do them. I like your version better.
i liked this very much. i love the movie, and it is the perfect vehicle for this story of severus's existential angst. your vision of voldy-world was chilling. and your promise of future happiness for our couple was thrilling! thanks for a lovely christmas story.
I really enjoyed your take on this! So lovely. :-)
How sweet! It's a wonderful story for a character we all love. Happy Christmas to you and to Severus!
Lovely.
Great. Glad to see Sev like George Bailey realize that he made a difference and deserves to live. :) Really nice job. I also liked the band Zuzu's Petals. Nice touch...
Ah, I loved that. It was really sweet. That is one of my favorite Christmas movies.
I really enjoyed your version of 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Quite frankly I'm very dissapointed that J.K.R. Killed off almost all of my favorite characters. I'm so glad fan fiction keeps them 'alive' and 'well'.
That was a great story to read... I can easily imagine the HP universe being darker if Snape hadn't been around.
A Wonderful take of one of my Favorite Movies Ever!Well done Pearle!

Oh, that was wonderful. We all know how instrumental he was to the war, but this is a nice way to visualize it. Thanks!
