I'll Have Myself a Very Dreary Christmas
Chapter 1 of 1
Southern_Witch_69A filk to "Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas"
ReviewedI’ll have myself a very dreary Christmas,
How can my heart be light?
From now on,
You will be out of my sight.
I’ll have myself a very dreary Christmas,
Since I sent you away.
From now on,
My one true love has gone miles away.
I wish we were in the olden days,
Just Grindelwald and Dumbledore,
Best friends and lovers so close together,
Remaining that way forevermore.
These many hollow years have slowly passed along,
Each of us guilty of sin.
Sleep well in your prison, Nurmengard’s highest tower,
While I’ll have myself a very dreary Christmas again.

Hehe… couldn’t resist.
An internet source says that this song comes from the film Meet Me In St. Louis
Hugh Martin, Ralph Blane 1943.

LOL Yep yep
Another antidote to the Holiday cheer. Although the original song wasn't exactly cheery, either. So I guess you are keeping in the spirit of things.

Uhhuh.... poor old Dumby.
very clever, and suits the mood of the song. i liked it. fyi, in my opinion, judy garland's performance of that song in the movie meet me in st. louis is among the most poignant moments i've ever seen on screen.

I don't think I've seen it. I do love her voice though. I keep having a man's voice in my head singing it. Hang on. Now I can hear her singing it too. ~lol~Thank you very much. :)

i think if you've seen it you'd remember - she's wearing this red velvet dress i believe, and she's so young and heartbreakingly beautiful and she sings it to a young margaret o'brien playing her little sister. it's very sad and bittersweet.now that you mentioned it, i can hear that man singing it too. i wonder who he is!
