This was originally written as a serial drabble in response to the grangersnape100 challenge, "DE Fluff." I have modified the drabbles to form one straight story, and so some of the sections are now slightly more or less than 100 words.

I hate writing autobiographies...
My name is Emily, I'm 25 years old, and I'm from Boston.
I write SS/HG and nothing else, with the exception of SS/HG/LM.
My biggest WIP is In Times of War, and it will come to completion at about 125,000 words.

Awh, I loved this!! It was certainly an emotional moment between them. You did a lovely job :) xx
Bravo. Very well done. Both Hermione and Snape stay within the bounds of their canon roles. It is perfectly logical that in this one private instance Snape drops the bastard-persona for a moment to help this particular student.
A wonderful story!!!

And a wonderful comment! Thank you so much!
Severus employed a dramatic but effective way for Hermione to change her perspective about herself. I loved the " . . . following you around like a lost hippogriff" line.

LOL. I was pretty fond of that line myself. Your review was spot-on, by the way. The only way he could make her see that her scars were not something of which to be ashamed was to prove to her that he not only knew, but also felt, her pain. Thank you kindly for reviewing. It's lovely to see a reader take away from a story exactly that which the author intended.

The story Rageful Jewel is thinking of is "Guard, Check, Mate" by Bambu. It's wonderful.
But I really like this take on the 'scars' issue as well. Short but sweet. Thanks!
Author's Response: Oh I love Bambu's stuff! She's just fantastic... *swoons*
Thank you for your review on my take on the scar issue! Like I said in the description, it was only written as a serial drabble, but it still has a special place in my heart.
A very interesting story. I assume that it to take place at some point in 6th year. Anyway, this had to be the second story that I read in which Hermione had a scar in that shape. The first story that I read had that Dolohov curse created one part of the shape and the cutting curse used on her during a home invasion created the other part of the shape. (In fact, your story makes me wish I could find that story; I'll probably go to FAP to put in a search.)
Overall, I like the concept that those marks are badges that one should wear with pride.

Oooo, it sounds like a very interesting story! I'll have to keep my eye out for it...I actually got the idea for her scar from another fan fic I read, in which Severus was ashamed of his scars and Hermione was the one making him feel better about them. I like the idea that Severus can be a caring human being toward Hermione in a non-romantic setting, though its not something I would probably write about a second time. I'm much to PWP-driven for this fluffy nonsense Thank you for reviewing! It's very encouraging

Oh that was extremly well written

You made her more scarred than she was in the book- it just said she'd have a vertical line from belly button to her neck- but his reassurance of her was brilliantly written. A fantastic piece.
