I was searching for Luna stories, and this one is just so wonderfully moving. I love the references to Winnie the Pooh and it's such an original take on what happened to Luna's mother. This is just lovely and eerie, like a good fairy tale should be.

Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you found it. I'm quite fond of this story, but there isn't such a big audience for Luna stories, so it hasn't gotten noticed all that much.

I'm so glad I found it too. I wonder if people think Luna is easy to write, and avoid Luna-centric stories thinking they might be more fluff or light, yet I think it's hard to capture her. Really, there's a fair bit that's tragic to her story, and there's this sense of sadness and melancholy, and it comes through so well in this short piece of yours - it deserves more attention!

I find Luna quite difficult to write. It's easy to mock her strange sense of dress and odd beliefs, but to write her well you have to make sense of those things and fit them into the fact that she's a Ravenclaw, with all that means, and her rapport with the Thestrals and membership in the DA etc. This story was an attempt to get a handle on how those things might fit together.

Lovely one shot! I like the backstory you've created for Luna's mother and how you've weaved traditional folklore into it.
