For the grangersnape100 grocery shopping challenge

On a rainy summer Thursday in two identical supermarkets hundreds of miles apart, a curious thing happened: Severus Snape and Hermione Granger walked identical paths while shopping for groceries. If both places in that instant were to be viewed layered together, they would have appeared to the world to be partners; perhaps a father and daughter, perhaps a man with his much younger lover. Though they never realized it that day, (even after all that happened later) for a long moment they moved as one, buying apricots, brown eggs, vinegar, kosher salt, and raw oysters that smelled like the sea.

Awww. I don't know if "all that happened later" means canon or fanon but either way - just awww. :)Came upon this drabble from The New Library Awards LJ community. Glad I got a chance to read it. :)

Well done.  You really managed to get a lot of content in 100 words, and you created some wonderful mental images.  This makes me want to go grocery shopping.

This is quite poetic.  Fantastic job!

I adore this--your language is so exact and at the same time poetic (I've reread the last line about 5 times just to hear the cadence of the words) and you've expressed the magic of this pairing through a seemingly mundane situation.  Lovely!
