may07releasingthebeastwithin.JPGJust a quiet soul who loves to write. How else can I unleash my inner vixen? I love the character of Severus Snape, which is why he is in most of my fics. Romanic stories about Snape will see him with either Lily, Sinistra, or an OFC. Have fun!

Thanks very much for that. Yes Snape is definitely a hero. The books were as much about Snapes choices as Harry's. JKR proves that by putting Snape with Lily, Snape is driven to LordV by the horrid treatment of his youth, etc

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

I don't think he was driven, but everything that happened to him was definitely an influence. Here's to him making good in the end.

What a wonderful piece. I like what you said in your notes about Snape's choices - I feel that he was the key to the whole thing, and that his choices were the more difficult ones. He may not have made decisions for the right reasons, but he made the right decisions, and that was what mattered in the end. You captured his anguish so well here - and I like to think that he found some comfort in the end.

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

He made a mess out of his life and spent so many years trying to untangle it. I'd like to think he came out even in the end.

Short but sweet.  I, too, wish we had gotten a more fitting end to our hero.

Ah! That is so nice, Severus finally at peace and getting some of the love and thanks he deserves.

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

If anyone deserved love and peace, it was Severus.

Very touching and very well-done.  Thanks for sharing it.

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

You're welcome. I can't believe she killed him off in such a horrible way with the symbol of his own House and all.

I too hated that Severus Snape had to die.  He was one of my favorite characters.  I was practically crying when I read the book after his death and his memories.  By killing him off though it does seem to make him seem even more honorable as a hero.  You did a very good job at portraying Snape's exit of life.  I wish she would've showed that in the book as well.  Snape was a very important character and I knew him to be innocent when it first came to be unclear.  Did JK Rowling actually say she wasn't viewing Snape as a hero?  It seems she made him even more of a hero then without noticing with his memories.  *R.I.P. Severus Snape.*  Thanks for sharing your view of the end of Snape, it did seem a lot like what he would've done.

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

He's not a hero, but she said he was very brave.  After that I stopped listening to her interviews. I'll wait until I can borrow her encyclopedia from the library to see what she has to say about him. She just wrote his appeal off as our love for the 'bad boy' syndrome, without realizing what a rich character she had created.

Thank you for this one. It is beautifully written, tactfully done and does give a sense of closure that JK didn’t give Snape.  Severus deserved an ending like this…

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

Thank you fro your kind words. It's awful how he was reated as just another loose thread that needed to be snipped. Snape will be greatly missed.

Brilliant!!!!!!! I agree with everything you said in your notes about Snape... he IS the hero of the books. And this fic is almost as poignant as Always, or maybe I was already wept out. Whatever. Sev deserves recognition and peace in his soul. Three cheers for Severus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

His death was a pointless crappy ending to a troubled life. He deserved betterso I gave him better. Glad you enjoyed it.

Brava, and amen to your final comments.  He deserved ever so much more.  Snape was the true hero of DH.

Response from Lady Whitehart (Author of Beyond)

He definitely deserved something. Thanks for commenting.
