Eh, I'm too boring to have a proper bio.

Oh, wow. This fic leaves me with deep sympathy for Petunia. There's such possibility in that character, a bridge between the most Muggle of Muggles and the wizard whose job it was to save everyone, and yet Rowling neglected her. I'm glad you didn't- this was a wonderful story, and made her understandable and... true.

Thank you!! :D I will admit, I have a bit of a soft spot for Petunia. Some of the things she did were unexcusable, but... well, at the end of the day, she's just a very sad, lonely, very afraid woman, whose life has not been overly kind to her. I kind of think that Harry brings out the very worst in her, too (through no fault of his own, of course, but just by being a reminder of everything in her life that's gone wrong or hurt her in some way), and that under normal circumstances, she'd never be able to see herself capable of doing many of the things Harry experienced. Not at all an excuse--she's done some awful things--but I do think there's more reason to it than just that she's an awful person or something.
Oh, this is marvelously written, so moving and so very Petunia. I really like how you brought it full circle with her birthday. Lovely and melancholic.
You did a very nice job showing Petunia's regret. I'm glad I read it even though it isn't SS/GH.
Wow! This was really beautifully written. I don't usually read the ones that are "single character" fics, because I enjoy dialogue between characters. However, I'm really glad I read this one. I just finished DH yesterday, and I was really hoping that Harry and Petunia would have some semblance of a reunion. You've helped quench that urge a bit. I just really need closure with Harry and Petunia.
Very very beatuiful.
That was absolutely beautiful--very powerful, well done.
Wow, that was powerful. I'm glad I read it. It was wonderful.note-*Harry shows Hedwig the cupboard filled with stuff before the Order comes to move him. It describes it full of things. She did use it for some storage.
This was so lovely -- and a sympathetic look at such a problematic character. Knowing how far back Lily and Severus' friendship went was one of the truly intriguing revelations in DH -- all the layers of meaning it added to them and characters like Petunia.
Oh, I loved this! I think it was perfectly in character for Petunia to miss out on doing something she wants just because she wants to keep a certain act up. You wrote this very beautifully, I could feel the emotion in every scenario, every word. I also adored how each part fit in perfectly with canon but still had their own meaning. :) Excellent job on this! :)
Oh, what a good character study of Petunia.Yes, how does one occupy oneself during the long hours of wating for news ... one starts to think. About the past and what-if's ...I'm glad I stumbled over this fic.

Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!! I really do think that year must have been hellish for them; people in the wizarding world barely knew what was going on, and I imagine the Dursleys would hear even less. :( I'm not sure if you're at all interested, but I wrote a companion piece to this one that I'm in the process of posting to TPP, called Filling in the Spaces. The first 8 chapters are up (in 5 parts, due to some of them being rather short), and the rest are coming shortly, as the story's pretty much finished and is only having to go through some last-minute edits, Brit-picking and beta-reading at this point.

Brava! Very well done, indeed. This is a lovely unseen moment from DH.
