Thanks, lol. I don't think there will be any character deaths though lol. Thanks for reviewing.
I enjoyed this and would love to see you continue with a sequel.

Thanks for the review! I am actually finally in the process of getting chapter 2 beta'd and am working on more:)
Response from FruGal (Reviewer)
I'm so glad to see that your one shot is now called chapter one. I'll be looking for your updates.
very nice, especially for a first effort. It did make me choke up for a moment.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thank you for the review!
nice short fic, and clearly such a ltter would spike her curiosity. If you are just starting, you may want to try 100 word drabbles, they help sharpen the writing and do not take a lot of time.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thank you for the suggestion and thanks for reviewing:)
That was great and I for one would love to read a sequel (and a mutli chapter one at that!) I think you have a very elegant writing style and I liked the fact that the letter wasn't a love letter, Snape has just opened her eyes now we need to see what she sees.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it:)
It's a cute story -- it sounds like there's an alternate 6th & 7th year in there, and that HG, HP, & RW are off to hunt Horcruxes after their 7th year, and HBP never happened. I do like alternate 6th-year fics. I liked HBP, but I really love AUs in which SS never had to kill AD, for some reason, and I like a more-or-less good (or, at least, not evil) SS. I think that if you have the ideas for it, a sequel or a prequel/sequel could work quite well.
I wasn't entirely sure of SS's motivation for sending HG the letter, so I think that could be something a sequel could explore quite nicely. It was an intriguing glimpse that you gave us!

Thank you. I do have multiple ideas for his reasons behind it, although I think it may take Snape himself a little while to completely figure it out for himself;)
Oh, there are so many interesting hints, I can not help hoping that you do continue this, answering some of the questions and giving them happy ending.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks! If I do continue as I hope to, it will definitely be a happy ending:)
Nice one-shot. I look forward to seeing it continue if you decide to do so. I like that the letter was hidden, and that it disintegrated. I also like how he was in the shadows and made the slight contact with her. And that it wasn't a love letter. I, too, think that it would be frustrating to be required to berate a student who should be commended. Just a quick note on writing style. I loved that you started with a short sentence and the second was long. The second paragraph of the story was much harder to read since the sentences were almost all long. I found the paragraphs where you varied sentence type & length to be more readable. Thanks for sharing your writing, and I'll look forward to seeing what else you write. :)
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thank you for the suggestions, I do tend to be too wordy sometimes. Thanks for the review:)
I like it.
I won't deny I'd love to know what happens after the war, with both alive and no need of hiding... or maybe they find each other during the war? He hinted he was going to help them in the letter...
Anyway, it was a good little story as a one-shot and if you don't decide to continue, I hope at least I'll see other fics written by you soon.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks for the review, hopefully my ideas for this story will keep coming!
That would sure be a shock for Hermione to receive such praise from her former professor. I liked it.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the review:)
I would love to see you continue this story line. Your writing style is good-- clear and uncomplicated. I think you should go ahead and develop the plot here.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the review:)
I think you did a great job with this. The 'voice' of Snape was not overly effusive, which would have ruined it for me. There is definite potential for more, a chance meeting somewhere, perhaps after the war, or a series of coincidences or something, with the unspoken letter hanging in the air... I don't know, you're the writer. This is a good starting point if you choose to take it, but it'll stand on its own. Hope to see more from you in the future!
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
I admit I was partly tempted to write more of a love letter, but at least at this point in the story that would definitely not be Snape. I don't think at this point he even realizes that he has deeper feelings. Thanks!
I'm afraid I must beg you to write more, your ideas in this story show so much promise. I would certainly read it.HugsEvela
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks! I hope to write more soon:)

Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Wow, thanks! I am going to at least attempt to write more with all these good responses, you are all motivating me!
This works beautifully as a one-shot, but I do hope you expand on it and turn it into a full-blown multi-chaptered story!
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
I hope to, thanks:)
Oohh great start to this story. It would be fine to leave it as is, but to follow it up would be even better. Good job.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks! Hopefully more inspiration will strike:)
Your story was really good and I definitely think that you should make it more than a one shot. The story itself seems lke a prologue and makes me want to hear the rest of the story. Please post more!
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks:) All this encouragement makes me want to write more:)
I really enjoyed this little story. It was sad but sweet, he left so much unsaid in that letter for her to read between the lines. Thank you for sharing it.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Yes definitely a lot left unsaid:) Thanks for reviewing!
Oh, I liked that. I would love to see more.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks!
Well, I liked it! I do hope you'll write a sequel to it. I'm a happy ending junkie so I'm putting my plea in now *wink*. I'm glad you chose to post your work. Thanks!
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
If I do continue it, it will definitely have a happy ending:) I love happy endings too. Thanks for writing.
Very moving and bittersweet - it does make you hope that both of them survive the war (hint, hint!). Keep writing...
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks for reviewing! I'm going to attempt it if I can figure out more of a plot:)
I really enjoyed this story. I'd love to see you write/finish the sequel you said you were working on! :-)
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm still planning on finishing it, I just need to get some more ideas lol.
I liked this, either as a one shot, or if you decide to continue with it.
Response from Merlina Thalia (Author of Due Praise)
Thanks for the review:)
Oh I like it as a stand alone. Just a minute in time before the ravages of war are upon them. Good job!
