Love this! Great twist on the usual SS/HG pairing, and your use of words is wonderful! "Minerva would have kittens!" Ha! and "Sweet baby Merlin" indeed!

Poor Hermione.  I feel sorry for her, both because she succeeded and because she did not.  At least she can be grateful that she unknowingly spared herself a far worse fate, since I have no doubt that Severus would have found a way to take revenge above and beyond that of Hermione's humiliation.  If he had decided to let her spend the rest of her life looking over her shoulder in fear of when and how he was going to act, it wouldn't have surprised me.

Well done, rosewood!  This is a whale of a tale, and not at all what I expected when I started reading it. 

I'm an SSHG shipper, but I love any well told story, and this one fills that bill very nicely.  I'm very glad you managed to save Hermione from herself, and Professor Appleton from the idiocy of Ronald Weasley.  And I hope Severus and Amanda will live (and love) happily ever after.
