How did occlude cry work like that?

Response from peskipiksi (Author of A Problem Shared)

In my story it works like this:  Occlumency allows you to hide certain thoughts or memories, and project others to the forefront of your mind, so that they are what a Legilimens sees.  How does a Boggart know what to turn into if not by looking inside your mind? You may argue it looks into your soul, but essentially it's the same thing. If you can project a false fear strongly into the forefront of your mind, that is what the Boggart will pick up and act upon.

Response from jadecadence (Reviewer)

Ah,... thanks for the explanation... :D I understand why an explanation like this would be hard to fit in the story. :D

Love!!  It is interesting the things that people an be afraid, even if they don't realize it!  So glad our favorite spy was in full Occlumency mode!

Response from peskipiksi (Author of A Problem Shared)

Thanks!  Oh, yes, to quote Lupin "Snape was a highly accomplished Occlumens" So glad you liked it!

This was sad and funny at the same time. Narcissa on the floor with her dead son in her arms is a nightmare with which  any mother can sympathise. The great Voldermort being afraid of the ghosts of his victims, is both comic and disgusting. What terror lays is the childhood of the Lestrange brothers, one shudders to think. Bella's obsessive devotion to hes "Dark Lord" is disgusting, to be willing to give her child up to such an evil is beyond belief. Thank goodness Severus was able to trick the boggart and escape unharmed.

Response from peskipiksi (Author of A Problem Shared)

Yes, thank goodness Bellatrix never had kids. I shuddered too at that when I read HBP.  The doll phobia was actually mine until I had hypnosis! I saw a kids' TV programme at age 7 where a wax doll got melted in a doll's house fire and it really freaked me out! Sev being the greatest Occlumens ever it made total sense he would be able to use it on a Boggart.
