Reviews for Duel at Rannoch Moor
Love the mixture and intertwining of Beltane, Druid and the Founders! Mmm... It inspires the imagination visually as well as narratively--more, please--really enjoy this--thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it. It was an attempt to do something in a saga style.
Very interesting, and thought provoking. Thank you.

You are welcome. One might think the Founders were up to something.
An interesting tale, I enjoyed it very much, although it left me wondering about certain elements (as these types of poetic tale often do)

Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it.
Don't know what elements puzzle you, but I can supply what I used as background. Beltane is an ancient Gaelic ritual when they were primarily herdsmen. The herd is blessed by being run between two sacred bonfires before being taken to summer pasture. All hearthfires are extinguished and restarted from the embers of these two bonfires. In this story, the tribe chooses the funeral pyre instead to honor bravery. I have the Founders opposed to the Druids (possibly they are a renegade sect) because of the Druid practice of human sacrifice, although this is controversial - it may or may not be Roman propaganda.

Thank you. That clears it up I was aware of those points, including the propaganda element, but I think the animosity between the Druids and the Founders and the reasons isn't too clear. As I said, that is fairly common, because historicallyeverybody knew these things when the stories were originally told so there are abbreviations to keep things apace but it's not so clear to later generations.
