Drama General Friendship Hogwarts Castle 8,525 Words 1 Chapter Complete
Albus Dumbledore Minerva McGonagall Severus Snape

Young Professor Severus Snape shows up for a meeting, but the only other person there is the Deputy Headmistress. He wants to leave and return later, after the other participants will have arrived, but Professor McGonagall explains why that is impossible. Cross about having his plans for the day disrupted for a meeting that’s not taking place, Snape resents having to spend the afternoon with McGonagall. She doesn’t seem very pleased, either, but is content to relax and wait. Snape isn’t so patient, and soon manages to annoy his companion. Written for the LJ community HP Friendship Fic Fest 2013. Dammit. I hate that this is just a one shot. I would love to be a voyeur at the Jamaican restaurant. I think this needs a revisit please

Response from MMADfan (Author of Not Entirely Tedious)

It would certainly be fun to be a fly on the wall!I've gotta catch up with my WIPs -- plus deal with some very tedious and not-at-all-fun RL stuff -- but then that would be a really fun follow-up to write. Heck, if I can't work on my WIPs, maybe I'll give it a shot. Thanks very much! Glad you liked it.

Response from sweetlysevere (Reviewer)

Meh, RL stuff has a habit of not being fun this year. Hope everything is ok and you can get back to the writing. You really do have a talent for it.

Response from MMADfan (Author of Not Entirely Tedious)

Yeah, no kidding -- very not fun. But I'm hoping things will look up soon -- for everyone. Thanks -- I do enjoy writing, too. It's a loss when I can't.

This was a thoroughly delightful read. I loved your young, snarky, immature Severus, hoping to embarrass Dumbledore with the book about goats, cleaning his boots in the living room and setting out tea he knew Minerva disliked. His assumption that she didn't have anything she'd rather do than attend a meeting, and his disbelief that she could be reading anything other than transfiguration reminded me of students who seem to believe teachers have an 'off' switch and are stored in the cupboard overnight. His attempt to embarrass her about her sex life (and his assumption that she doesn't have one) strengthen that impression.

I loved the way Minerva handled him too -- letting him stew, putting up her feet and reading her book, making tea and refusing to let him get away with his petulance. Really though, Hieland Wizard, Hieland Warrior, Hieland Lover? That's absolutely hilarious. Then the conversation gets serious, and they are really able to discuss deatheaters, and his past, and how it all affected her personally, and it really felt like they were able to connect and begin to forge the beginning of a friendship.

I loved the ending too, with Minerva taking Dumbledore to task about leaving her alone with Snape, and Filius arriving with a splash!

Thank you,

! I'm glad that you enjoyed young, immature Severus and his interaction with Minerva. I think they did develop a rapport by the end of the conversation, and I'd like to imagine them gradually developing a friendship after this. Glad you liked Minerva's choice of holiday reading material! Yes, Minerva is quite capable of handling Albus and letting him know how she feels. Thanks for your review!

I really like your prickly, slightly careful of his dignity, but still awkward young Severus!

Wonderful! I particularly loved how young and almost *adolescent* Snape behaved!

Response from MMADfan (Author of Not Entirely Tedious)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and Snape's, ahem, "youthful" behavior! Nice to see you,
