Reviews for An Ancient Yarn
This is wonderful--love the era it is set in (Picts defending against invading Romans) and the possibilities presented, and aid beingextended to particular Gaul--lovely, historically & magic worldly, enriching yarn!

A tale for all ages, stressing the importance of uniformly dyed wool and rodent familiars. Oh, and fending off the Roman army and rescuing handsome young men.
Nice jubilant story! Read it twice before I reviewed

Thanks. The intent was to be light hearted.
Wonderful to see a story that goes so far back. Thank you.

Glad you liked it. This story was a farce, but it had a serious side as befits a time of turmoil.
That's cute! We never hear how they got to be friends to begin with.

Paying proper attention to yarn, mice, and kettles leads to acquiring a moste potente associate. :)
Such silliness - I like it!

The story does emphasize the supreme imporatnce of dyeing yarn, listening to your mouse familiar, and stirring your copper kettle. Oh, and fending off an invading army, that too. Thanks.

Ah, I do know the importance of dyeing and stirring my (not copper) kettle, although my 'familiar' was a rat. I don't know about an army, but I know it is possible to hold off a Viking raid on your kitchen/fire pit with a wooden spoon
