I'm a 20-something-year-old wanna-be author. Unfortunately real life doesn't leave much time for anything. I'm married with two dogs and a cat and work helping the mentally disabled.
I joined the Harry Potter fandom a few years ago and it's pretty addictive!

A beautiful story. Thank you for taking something that is very tragic and painful and finding a way to show a positive end.
Nicely written. Would have liked to know what happened to Nott and if he stays away from them, though. Or was Snape intimating that he would kill him?

Snape was intimating he would kill him. I'm thinking of writing up a follow-up piece to let everyone know what happened to all the players.
I loved it, Severus were absolutely brilliant!!!
"...even if it means I have to reclaim a piece of myself I would rather lose forever." What's he talking about? Great story by the way.

He's talking about going back to his Death Eater ways.
I enjoyed the story. Violent beginning but left me with an 'awww feely good' feeling. If you ever decide on an edit you might just want to spend an extra line regarding the agreement with Nott, saying he claimed Corbin as heir but would retain no parental rights and that he would spend many years in Azkaban for the rape and manipulation of another (making sure she'd get pregnant). That should clear up any issues people are having. You could still have the part about Severus helping to make sure that Hermione could keep the child by bringing up distant pure blood family of Notts (you know, the whole get the baby get the $$$ and she's a Muggleborn so can't raise a proper wizarding child). You still get to keep the story as planned but it clarifies things.I thought Severus learning about love by watching Hermione interact with her child during the pregnancy was well-done. Too many of his examples of 'love' were bad ones.I also see the potential for you to take this and expand it into a longer piece (not going on from here but expanding it as a whole).I thought Mandy was an interesting character and would like to know how she came work for Snape. I really liked the whole Tribe of Misfits idea. You could follow the thead of distant relatives trying to take Corbin and the two of them having to fight against Muggle prejudice. How did Severus convince the Ministry to allow him to sell to Muggles.More regarding the Ron-Hermione-Molly probably being a tiny bit pushy.Lovely story obviously since it sparked so much for me to happily munch on (I think you are the recipient of my longest review ever).

Well thanks for the long review I don't have any plans at the moment to expand on this piece, but those are some good ideas.
I have really mixed feelings reading this. The Severus/Hermions story is quite lovely, from the hurt/comfort beginning, to the friendship, to the evolution to love.Mandy was a fantastic add. And I liked the scene at the Burrow as well. The imagery was great. However, the treatment of the rape was a little....I don't know...light. I realize this is Severus' POV, but if Theo really was sent to Azkaban, Severus would have felt some satisfaction on Hermione's behalf. And the comment about him asserting parental rights was particularly jarring, especially given that there was no contradiction to this. A little more closure on that topic would have strengthened an already strong story.

Thank you for the review. Sorry if the treatment of the rape seemed light, but this was the first time I had written something like this and research can only take you so far. (Sorry if this seems glib, but I'm not exactly sure how to answer beyond that. It's something that is very hard for me to express without sounding like an ass.)
Out of a dreadful incident much happiness abounds. Lovely. Thanks for writing and sharing.

Thank you for reviewing.
What a great story, sad that someone was hurt but happy that two people found each other. Well done!

Thank you. This was such a labor of love :)
Being in such an awful situation, what Hermione needed most was a friend she could trust. She found that in Severus. The fact that it turned into something more is just icing on the cake. I'm glad they got their happy ending.

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
I love how Severus and Hermione took the less-than-stellar beginnings they were handed, and with love created this beautiful family. So very well written! Thank you.Beth

Thank you :)
lovely
Nott didn't go to jail for raping Hermione? What kind of barbarians are they in the wizarding world? That's no culture that I would want to belong to, nor would I send any children of mine off to be educated in it.
Response from carley9 (Author of Of Fearless Hope and Grace)
Sorry I didn't make it clear. I was trying to write strictly from Severus' POV. Nott is in Azkaban. Will be for a while.
Cute overall, I'm always happy to see a story with a happy ending for Severus. :)
