Reviews for A Squib's Place
That was so sad!
An interesting look into the life of a very under-represented character. I think the saddest part was to see such a life of disappointment ... with small windows of joy ... in a sea of sadness.

She did have joy, though! And her cat-kneazles helped, too. :-)Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked them!

Mew mew. It is true, kitties are wonderful when you're down. Mine have been so amazing for just such a thing.
I'm so glad to see another one of these! Drabbles aren't my favorite because you typically get so little story from them. Yours are great for two reasons. First, you pick out just the right moments, and fill them with the right emotion so that it really makes an impact. Second, you are using characters we know very little about so any amount of story is welcome. I do hope you continue to do these. You've handled them very well.

Thank you very much,

! I'm glad that you're enjoying them. I do have a few more planned, and I've begun a series of Hagrid drabbles -- one of the more major characters I've picked.
Oh m'gosh, this was so very incredibly sad. I always liked Arabella in the books and movie (what little we saw of her) and this just makes me even sadder. sniff sniff. I'm so very happy Minerva and Albus tried their best to include her in their world. Hugs all around!!

I find myself even more intrigued by her now that I've thought about her for these drabbles.I'm sorry they made you sad! But I'm glad you liked them. Thanks!
Left this on AO3, too:Love this series. Arabella Figg is just so ripe for fic, and so few people seem to do it--I'm so glad you have.Giving her a magical twin is brillliant--it just highlights the "other" angle of it. You really capture the idea that being a Squib is a disability in the wizarding world.You-Know-Who is all about death. And phoenixes are hopeful. You can never really kill them. Just like there’ll always be good people, no matter how many You-Know-Who murders. Love this.Going on my recs list, of course.

Thank you! Thinking about Arabella for this series has really given me a new appreciation for her. I'm glad you liked it so well!
Lovely to see a story about such an overlooked character, she did a lot more for Harry that he realised, protecting him when he was small, and going into court for him was dangerous and thankless in the end. Thank you for giving a voice to a brave woman.

Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed it! She really was quite brave, wasn't she?
Lovely story about Arabella. She's either ignored or sidelined as a minor (very minor) character in most fanfics I've read. ^_^

Thank you. I think she's also often seen as a comic character, too, but she's involved in some very serious business, especially with the Dementors. Glad you enjoyed it!
