Twenty-nine years later, Rose Weasley declares her love for Scorpius Malfoy. Molly orders Arthur to have nothing to do with the Malfoys, so Hermione, now widowed, finds herself acting as the head of her family. Naturally, she turns to a book for advice on courting rituals; however, it fails to warn her about jealous Malfoys, the usefulness of owlBay, hungry horses, wizards in cricket whites, interfering elves, perspicacious offspring, the lure of libraries or the life-long loyalty of Crups. She does discover a fondness for elf-made wine and the production thereof, even though 'Château Bonfoi Elf-made Wines' has absolutely nothing to do with Lucius and everything to do with a mysterious arbiter – who is perfectly capable of telling Lucius exactly where he can stick his wand.

I would pay good money to see Severus Snape drinking tea from a mug that proclaimed 'Quidditch Players do it with enchanted balls.' Priceless!!!I was tickled pink when Severus asked to escort Hermione to the ball. I'm so glad the two of them will be together. And I can't wait to hear what Lucius has to say about that!Well done!Beth

I think Lucius will have plenty to say about it. But will Severus take a bit of notice?

The Olde English cracked me up: "Ye Precise & Inestimable Usefull Grimoire of Eponyma de Mallfoye contayning Matters pertainyng to Betrothal, Matrimonie, Fornyckation & ye Lyke"There is nothing I didn't like about this awesome first chapter! •The dinner at Malfoy Manor •Lucius hunkering down with the family grimoire to plan his "plan" •Malcolm Baddock is perfect as Hermione's business partner •the Elf of an impoverished but highly educated and once-noble northern English line, to wit, an elf of impeccable lineage •And lets not forget our Severus. I'm looking forward to this romp! Beth

*beams*Thank you for your lovely comments! I'm delighted that you are enjoying my little depiction of Wizarding High Society. As for Lucius, I think he may have bitten off more than he can chew...

Ooh! This was exciting. I must admit I am suspicious about Lucius - I doubt very much that hi is lirting without reason. Also: scaffolding charms? I *want* those!
Response from gingertart (Author of Ye Gentlewizard's Guide to Courtshippe & Matrimonie)
I want scaffolding charms too! And Lucius is always shifty - it's in his genes.

Poor Hermione, stuck between two flirting Slytherins, I'm so jealous. I'm so pleased that they have all grown to at least respect eachother, even Dudley, the day at the cricket should be fun, { if we get to go, that is }.

Wizards in cricket whites... how could I resist? Snape in WHITE??

Oh, my my. I'm going to have to fan myself - that was quite the stimulating word-play and bit of flirting! Gods - either one is more sexy than any ten have a right to be. To have both of them vying for her attention... poor woman. I'm a Libra - I simply could not choose!

Poor Hermione, her life is filled with difficult decisions! But I'm sure she'll make the right one in the end...

Just found this story great job with the way you pressent Molly always trying to run everyones life Rose for saying she will not stop seeing Scorpios Lucius being his stuborn self Hermione for being taking her daughters side.
Now let the games begin, I put my money on Hermionie & Seveous. Loved your Serous.

There are so many things I love in this chapter, the mug, Biggles , Rose {and Hugo } finding the perfect gift, and Lucius pouting because of it. Waiting patiently for the next chapter.

Ye Arbiter ys...lykely to inspire alle Happy Feelings Perhaps the finest and most accurate description of Severus that I have ever heard. Really. You had so many great lines in this chapter. As others have already mentioned them, I will just end with "Good Job".

Quidditch Players do it with enchanted balls??? Only you, dear gt, would cheerfully place such a mug in Snape's hands. I salute you.My second favorite line: "Very well, please feel free to call me 'sir'."Whenever students ask me my first name, I promptly reply "Mrs". Perhaps there's a little Snape in most teachers? ;)Thank you for brightening the day.hm88
Response from gingertart (Author of Ye Gentlewizard's Guide to Courtshippe & Matrimonie)
Hee, yes, I couldn't resist giving Severus Ron's old Quidditch mug. And I really don't like this new-fangled idea of calling teachers by their first names...

Another great chapter. just love the archaic language of the Ye gentlemens Guide, the part about not hexing the Pryvtes had me spit out my drink more than once. can't wait for part three. :)

Poor Lucius. But he does deserve every bit of it. I'm truly enjoying this fic. And Severus is lovely - though I dare say he has his own agenda. Can't wait to find out what it is.
Response from gingertart (Author of Ye Gentlewizard's Guide to Courtshippe & Matrimonie)
Is it giving away too much to suggest that Severus' agenda might include the possibility of sex?

*snicker* Lucius won't know what hit him. ^_^

Lucius is famed for underestimating people.... whether their evilness or the opposite. I think he's in for a bit of a shock.

Rose and Scorpius a lot to overcome, with both familys up in arms, at least the older generation. The dinner scenes were brilliant, and I love the idea of owlbay . Looking forward to the next chapter, and the meeting between Severus and Hermione.

I think a duel may not be too far from the truth actually. ;)I do like Hermione's return shot to Lucius though. Cricket on the village green sounds like just the way to get Lucius out of the 'one upmanship' games. And Hugo. So much like Ron, and with the gift of lightening proceedings. His summation of Hermione's true admirer was probably worth losing the curtains over.
Response from gingertart (Author of Ye Gentlewizard's Guide to Courtshippe & Matrimonie)
Yes, Lucius needs to have his patrician nose put out of joint and a well-aimed cricket ball might just do it. And I'm glad you like Hugo!
