Reviews for The Black-Eyed Angel
Wow! What a roller coaster ride. Poor Severus and his childhood song. Really had me going there for a while.
I loved the first part. Of course their coming together was wonderful and then to discover how others felt about their togetherness, but the ending was quite a twist. Thankfully I'm reading this all at once and I think my mind has kept things straight. Now there is the wonder about how much of what we've been told is true and how much is delirium.
Nice sharing of secrets. I love the fact that Dumbledore had him manipulate his memories to earn Harry's trust. I can completely see that happening. And very nice that he was gentleman enough to take her someplace more comfortable.
Have to watch what you think around a Legilimens. ;)
So bittersweet. The moment of happiness and the reminder of the cruel death.
Nice beginning of the courtship, though neither realizes that's exactly what it is.
Oh, so sad. Poor Hermione.
What an emotional roller coaster - loved it!

Teddy, I really enjoyed reading this. I especially loved the romance that surged between them as Hermione was a young professor. They had both experienced pain at being alone or cast aside, and the joy and healing that they gave each other was wonderously told. I had to laugh at one of your author notes about head-popping - I didn't mind the POV shifts in the least! I know they're supposedly a no-no, but I liked knowing what both of them were thinking, especially during her interview and the after-Yule-Ball hotness. :D The image you had created of the black-eyed angel was beautiful, so surprising when it turned out to be cursed. I would actually love to see that image used as a positive one somehow. The turn of the story totally took me by surprise. I was gearing myself up for a real tearjerker, so I was glad for (and impressed by) the way you turned that around. All in all, I really liked this story a lot!

Chris, thank you so much for your wonderful comments! The inspiration for this story was a drawing that Sempraseverus did called The Black-Eyed Angel, and the title stuck in my head. Because I start a story with no outline or idea at all how it will go (and rely totally on my Muse to tell me what to type), I wasn't sure what was going to happen, or if it was actually going to be a tear-jerker or not! In the end, the real Black-Eyed Angel was Cobel their son - I actually wrote a GS100 drabble about him at the end of their lives, coming to take them home. Now THAT was the tear-jerker! LOL Seriously, I really appreciate you taking the time to reassure me about the POVs. This was such an early work, and I feel like at this point I still had a lot to learn, but I'm glad it was enjoyable.

Is he or isn't he? Only the author knows for sure! *grin* And the rest of us had better find out fast!!! ^_^

So this is how it's gonna be? Crying one chapter tantalised the next? Wonderful writing Teddy.

I'm wondering if it should really say "none" under Warnings. I think I understand why you don't have a character death warning but perhaps a warning for implied character death may apply. I get that we are reading about memories within dreams and not everything in the dreams is true, but it seems as if the warnings should still apply even if something doesn't really happen. What do you think?
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of The Black-Eyed Angel)
To be honest, I haven't thought of that. Thank you!

I'm enjoying this story, but I'm sooo confused. It seems at the end of this chapter that Severus is not dead like we thought. But it also looks like Hermione is very sick herself with whatever affected Severus. I hope things will become clearer.

Yes, she's delirious. I hope the next chapter will shed a little more light!

Oh man...I am loving this story. It sings to me in a way no fanfic has for a long time. I love this Severus, seen through the haze of sweet memories and a glaze of aching loss. I cannot wait to read more. Yours are some of my favorite stories, but this one is definitely a new favorite!

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. I can't tell you how happy I am that you are enjoying the story. I was a little hesitant to post it here, because it was one of my first, and I feel like I've learned so much more about writing since I wrote it, but I'm thrilled with the response for it. I hope you will enjoy the remainder of it.
