That was so lovely, and so in character for both of them. But I sincerely hope this is an AU in which Severus survives - the thought of Winky losing him as well as Dobby is a little much for me to bear!

She would do anything to save her new Master. I just hope she doesn't do a Dobby and sacrifice herself - Snape wouldn't survive that either. :)

I agree. The saddest thing about DH for me was how lonely Severus must have been. I do like to give him friends and allies in my fics!

I never would have guessed this, but why not? It does seem mutually beneficial, so good for them.

I would never have guessed either, but the prompt just conjured up images of Barty Crouch Jnr having Azkaban nightmares and one of Winky's duties being to keep him calm, and from then on, it flowed. (I am such a David Tennant fan!)
