Reviews for A Cup of Kindness
an interesting story, I'd love to see a follow up one about the party! Lol. I bet there are quite a few surprised faces!!

You can bet there will be, LOL!
Fumbling in the dark, he found something small and spherical and used a Lumos to get a better look. He almost dropped the object in disgust. It was a disembodied eye, staring directly at him as if it were alive.Love this part -- it's so immediate, and so sudden, that we can easily relate to Corvus' revulsion.I like how Corvus manages to slowly gain Moody's trust, and how never takes any of Moody's slights or ill-temper to heart. He's a good calming influence on old Mad-Eye!I have to mention that I loved the use of "Fern Hill," my favorite Dylan Thomas poem. I think it's an apt one for Moody to be touched by -- thinking back on a childhood he says he can't remember, maybe remembering it when hearing the words of the poem. And surely it's a contrast to his current condition, being young and easy, though in both conditions, in chains of a sort. The growing friendship between Corvus & the old Auror seems natural and warm. I loved how at the end, Moody becomes stronger and more confident with his old magical eye back in place.I am very partial to ravens and their kin, so I really liked Corvus' Animagus form. Ravens are among the smartest of the birds, if not the absolute smartest. Best thing about this story? Alastor lives! I'm a bit ambivalent about his character -- never sure whether I like him or not -- but I really like having his character around, and he's an interesting one.It looks like there will be a sequel to this, with Moody showing up (with Corvus?) at Harry's party. That should be interesting!I hope to see more of your stories here on TPP!

Yep, finding Moody's eye was certainly a shock for poor old Corvus. He's a bit squeamish about such things, but he's patient, and that's an important thing to do when dealing with Moody."Fern Hill" seemed to be a thematically appropriate poem, especially since we know very little about Moody's past canonically. Indeed, Moody's certainly "in chains" at that point, both in his injuries and reluctance to ally with Corvus.Corvus's animal form certainly reflects his cleverness as a human. Ravens are clever birds, and they seemed to fiit his character. He was almost certainly a Ravenclaw back in his Hogwarts days. Moody isn't one of the nicest people, but is certainly an interesting character to write. And yes, there will almost certainly be a sequel. Thanks for the review!

Thank you so much for saving Moody. He found himself a good friend there, and Corvus has benefitted immensely, too. Looking forward to the sequel you've promissed!

You're welcome! I'm very fond of old Mad-Eye, too. Corvus is a good friend, though it took him a while to figure that out.Thank you for reviewing!
