I'm a middle-aged, professional writer of non-fiction and would-be professional writer of fiction who also writes Harry Potter fanfiction just for fun.
I’m a proud member of the Harry Potter Old Lady Smut Brigade, which means I’m most interested in the older female characters in the Harry Potter saga, particularly Minerva McGonagall.
If I had received my Hogwarts letter back in nineteen-mumble-mumble, I would most likely have been sorted into Ravenclaw, or so everyone tells me, probably because I’m a geeky data-freak (my Real Life™ requires me to read piles of medical journal articles.) I, however, think I’d feel right at home in Hufflepuff too, so I consider myself a Ravenpuff.
The fics I write may contain adult themes, and I will always warn for non-con, graphic violence, bestiality, incest, or underage sex. I don't warn for homosexual relationships or sex, or for threesomes/moresomes, unless they contain one of the aforementioned elements.

I have a blog: http://squibstress.wordpress.com/.
I'm also on LiveJournal and Twitter (@Squibstress).
I maintain a master list of (mostly Minerva-centric) recs at Diigo.

Very nicely done. I really like seeing this all from Filch's POV. You really seemed to nail him well. Thank you.

Thanks a lot. It' both well-written and poignant. I also shook my head when people laughed...
Very nicethanks
OMG very moving. I'm afraid I was one of those who laughed at this part of the movie. You put a whole different perspective on that scene and Filch in general. Thank you.
That was beautiful and insightful and utterly heartbreaking. His voice in my head sounded absolutely authentic, and the little scene with McGonagall was perfect. I'm writing this with tears streaming down my face. Thank you, I think!
Thank you, a poignant insight into, a complex man.
This is quite lovely. I'm usually a bit snobby about movie-based fic (probably because I haven't yet seen all the movies), but this was really moving. I thought at first that it would have been nicer and more satisfying if you'd gone on a bit and shown that Filch truly made himself a part of Hogwarts in later years, since he was given that insight and understanding in the heat of battle. But then I realized that you'd already made it clear that he would do that by having him pick up that broom and get started with the rebuilding. Very restrained and well done!
A beautiful and moving portrait of the man who, in the daily realities of life, did so much to keep things running. I dearly hope he found his Mrs. Norris, safe and sound, curled on his bed.
Oh. Gorgeous. Haunting. I love how you enhanced canon here--excellent story, well done.

Wow. Just... wow.
Wow, what a sad little story. Filch doesn't make himself likable, but here I am feeling like he does have some redeeming qualities. It's just he never let them show. Perhaps things will be different now. I have complete confidence Mrs. Norris will return unscathed.
