A million thanks to my dear friend, the author Almanera, for the beautiful banners she created for my stories. She is an amazing artist, and an extremely talented writer. Her chronicle of the Black family, The Darkness in My Veins, is one of the best fics I've ever read.

Very dark Severus indeed.

Thank you for your review! I do like a dark Severus.
Amazing story. Hope there will be more.Severus was so tormented. Is denying love really better than suffering from love? I think Severus was still tormented more than lily even in “redemption”.

Thank you for the lovely review! You have a good point: unlike Lily, Severus has never been truly loved, which is tormenting him. At this point, Dark magic and violence are the only ways for him to get pleasure or satisfaction. It gets better at the end of The Redemption, where Lily learns to love him, but he cannot change any more... at least, not in this darkfic version. I'd definitely like to write more Severus/Lily stories, but beware - they might be even darker than this one!

Couldn't wait to see your new stories. The darker the better. I love stories that explore the limits and beyond of everything about life.

This was such a dark, haunting tale, and so beautifully written that I could almost see the madness overtaking Severus, as though the whole scene were unfolding right before me. You are a truly gifted writer and I eagerly await the chance toread more stories from you.

Ça va, chérie?
Your one-shot about Spinner’s End is simply marvellous – my very favourite – the way you show Lily’s suffering and Snape’s selfishness comes out in the best way possible. People always feel sorry for him and blame Lily for having abandoned him thinking that she was the reason why he chose the path of darkness, but actually I doubt very much that things happened this way – didn’t she say “I’ve been making excuses for you for years” once he came to apologize to have called her a “Mudblood” – she did, and in my opinion it shows that she’d been trying to keep him off that path, but he chose it, so she is the real victim, not Snape – and in this one shot she gets raped because she’d been too kind and foolish for her own good and didn’t really realize what kind of a person Snape had been all along until it was too late. Also, he says “I won’t hurt you, you silly girl,” but he rapes her, which is one of the worst forms of abuse out there. It’s very ironic. Horror and irony are simply marvellous in this story.

Thank you so much, dear! You pointed out exactly what I wanted to show: if Severus joined the Death Eaters, he did so of his own free will; he wouldn't have stayed in Voldemort's good graces if he didn't have an affinity for Dark magic and if he weren't able to stomach the atrocities his "colleagues" practiced. Lily shouldn't be blamed for his choice. I also wanted to show that Lily wasn't an insensitive and stupid girl, that she actually felt bad for leaving Severus (however reasonable her decision seemed) and even for making her sister feel inferior. Jo made it quite clear that she was an unusually kind and self-sacrificing person. Snape's remark, "I wish you no harm. Why do you refuse to understand it?", is half-sardonic (if not sadistic), half-serious. He kind of feels Lily deserves to be raped by him: after all, "that's what she's been made for"...Thank you again! I'm really happy you liked it so much.
