Wow, I guessed it correctly, yay!!!! I often feel there must have been loads of ladies (including fangirls like us, of course :P) who loved Severus, but his obsession with Lily never allowed him to reciprocate or even understand their feelings towards him... *sigh*I like to think that he did understand one day, though!

Thank you so much for reading this--yes, I agree completely about Severus *sighing with you*... so sad that one who was so sensitive and capable of such feelings could not have been open and experience love with another--what he wished reciprocated from Lily because of his deep sole obsession with her hindering him... yes, step forward, us fangirls💗 Thank you again, truly appreciate it!
Very sad for both of them, it started me thinking{ always a dangerous thing} which wizard was earmarked for Andromeda, whoever it was it was probably a lucky escape for her.

Very nicely done. The clues are there throughout and I was pretty sure I had figured out who she was. How interesting that would have been had Severus found room in his heart for her.

Thank you so much for the read and lovely feedback as always--truly appreciate it, and agree--one of the many things that I'm curious about with Severus is how selective he was... in everything, and it struck me that even if someone else was allowed in on certain levels, finding or allowing room for anyone else other than Lily deep in his heart would definitely not be... I don't know, just truly sad *sighing* poor man. And poor witch! Thank you again,

Interestingly, I initially had pegged it as Andromeda, but had it as a postDH piece (where he somehow survived and she had been widowed for a while) until she started talking about marrying and it was clear that they were younger. Then I jumped to one of the lesser known female professors.Very well done indeed.

Interesting. I certainly didn't expect the witch in question to be Andromeda Tonks (nee Black). A number of different witches ran through my mind at various points in the story -- Hermione, Minerva, Sinistra, even Bellatrix -- but never Andromeda. (Obviously, the wedding reception going on in the other room must be for one of Andromeda's sisters -- most likely celebrating Bellatrix's marriage to Rodolphus Lestrange.)

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this piece and how it breaks my poor heart during my countless re-reads!
I had a heck of a time trying to figure out who it was, but then that made sense at the end once she's revealed. I think this is the first SS/AB story I've ever read.
