I like to read, and I have this compulsion to write.
And the lovely banner above was made by Talesofsnape, a friend of mine.

Excellent job. I liked the look at how the houses were born and the decision to place protections on the castle made. And Helga showed that you don't have to be clever, brave or pure-blood to make a positive difference.

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you. And a agree with you: I think compassion, kindness and tolarence goes a long way.

How very interesting. I must say, I was hugely impressed by Godric - though he did dissapoint me in one small aspect, but Merlin - for Heaven sake - what a vile individual!I find it quite refreshing, and charming, that Helga had to fight for the ability to teach "anyone" - but considering how baised people are - and the unbending nature of people in the Middle Ages - I think this is very plausable.

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I always liked how she was willing to "teach them all". That part of the Sorting Hat's song tickled my imagination. And Merlin ... yes, vile indeed. I'm very happy you liked my take on Helga and her willingness to stand up forvwhat she belived in.

A wonderful glimpse into how it all began. Thank you.    .

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you! I'm so glad you think so. It kind of amazes me that there are so few Founders stories out there.

Response from mick42 (Reviewer)

Yes, this is the only one I have found, so far. Thay were all strong and powerful, so there must be a gold mine of storys ,just waiting to be told. Thank you again for this one.

Everyone always underestimates Hufflepuff.  They forget how fierce a badger is.

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Yes, I think so too. I like Helga, her house and her attitude to life. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Aw, this definitely makes me proud to be a Hufflepuff!  I loved Helga's clever trick, and how you characterized her as courageous.  Though the specified traits of the other houses may sometimes seem more useful, there's something to be said for loyalty, compassion, and standing your ground.  Great job!

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you so much! In the end it's all in the self image, isn't it? Helga doesn't view herself as clever, couragous or cunning. It doesn't mean that she isn't. I love Helga, because of how she chose to define her house,

Beautifully done - and Helga - the best of them all, wasn't she?

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you so much! i'm so glad you thinknso. And Yes, I think she is. What makes me feel so much for her is the fact that she wanted to give everyone the chance to be the best that the could be. The tolerant one in a bunch of rather elitist people.

For all we're told how clever Ravenclaw and Slytherin are, I must say, your Hufflepuff is clearly the cleverest of them all. I love this glimpse into the founding of Hogwarts, as well as the reasoning behind the separate houses.

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you! It means a lot to me that you felt that the reasoning behind the story worked. In my mind all four of the founders were probably pretty equal in intelligence and ability. That's where I find Helga so interesting since she is the one who sticks out from the rest: The one who was willing to take all of the students, regardless of background or ability and that got me thinking.

Oh, I enjoyed this!  I've not seen an HP fic with Merlin in it before, despite how often his name gets taken in vain *g*.  I like the way you've characterized him and the Founders, and I love your BAMF Helga.  Great explanation for the "no Apparating" rule.

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

I'm so happy you  enjoyed it! And I took him so much in vain too, didn't I? *snickers* When writing, Helga became very clear to my mind, and I ended up liking her so much. Funny how that happens sometimes, isn't it. I feel that with Filius too. But I'm rambling, what I'm trying to say is thank you for the lovely review!

This is a good interpretation of the Founder's story. Nice job. ^_^

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

Thank you! I have found myself thinking a lot about them lately so I'm glad you liked it. I haven't seen all that many founders stories around, surprisingly.

good story, and one that shows very well the qualities that hufflepuffs are known for: being just and fair, loyal, ect. good job! :)

Response from Pyttan (Author of Founders Story)

I'm so glad you liked it. I really think there's way to few stories involving Hufflepuffs. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
