In order to be released from custody, Lucius is required to obtain meaningful employment. What better job could he find than working in a research library as the librarian's assistant? Now all he has to do is convince the librarian that he's the man for the job.
This was originally written and posted at the 2011 Lucius Big Bang fest on LJ. Note: rating and warnings are for later chapters.

I am a Harry Potter fanfic fanatic, I only discovered it after the release of DH. Disapointed that the series was ending, I read some blurb about fan fiction (which I had never heard of before) clicked a link and 'voila' I was hooked. I started out reading mostly Dramione, but evolved and although I still like DM/HG, my OTP is SS/HG. I also enjoy reading LM/HG and 3-somes with SS/HG/LM or DM/HG/BZ. As you can see I love seeing Hermione paired with those lovely Slytherin men.
After reading for nearly 2 years, I started writing a bit of my own, mostly shorter drabbles or ficlets. I've written seveal stories for fests, such as the SS/HG exchange, the LM/HG exchange, and the LuciusBigBang, fest among others.
I am magalena at here and at AFF, and FF.net; magdalena at GE, OWL and IATQO; and madeleone at live journal, AO3, Ashwinder and the Maple Bookshelf.Reviews for The Librarian's Assistant
This is great! The chemistry between them is already sparking, and Severus hasn't even shown up yet. Their interview conversation in the first chapter was such a great beginning, too.

Thanks so much. Glad you're feeling that spark between them. Those two could start a forest fire with the sparks they prodice! ;)

Oh, good, another chapter up! I am really liking librarian Lucius!

Thanks, I rather liked him myself! ;)

Their argument was very believable -- I felt bad for both of them. Now, will the arguing turn to other kinds of passion? ;)

Hmmm... it's a definite possibility! ;)

I really love this beginning. It's nice to see Lucius having shown some growth after his time in prison, and I like that Hermione has matured some, too. And he's already attracted! Nice :)

Thanks for your lovely comments. In order to write Lumione, I have to have a redeemed Lucius. He can still be proud and haughty and opinionated and stubborn, but he must have changed from his Death Eater days, otherwise why on earth would Hermione want to be with him? ;D

Holy cow, that was smokin' hot! I'm sure there is stuff that happened at the beginning of the chapter, but after that, I can't remember, nor do I care, lol. AND, a happy ending. Loved this story!

*smirks* Glad you like the ending, and I'm sure you enjoyed the first part of the chapter, even if you just can't remember one word of it right now. LOL! Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment.

Yeah, I knew Hermione was going to do something stupid, lol. But look at all of these folks working so hard to find her. She's a lucky gal. And certain men will likely be so relieved to have her back that they will show their appreciation for her in the best way they know how. At least I hope so. ;)
Response from magalena (Author of The Librarian's Assistant)
Yes, she did do something stupid, if it means anything, in her defense, she did it with the best intentions thinking she was helping Lucius. Hopefully you're right about the certain men. :)

So glad that Draco and Lucius were reunited with no drama. And same goes for he and Severus. Although, getting Hermione involved could be stirring up trouble, but it would be trouble of the best sort. There is something so fantastic about sweet little do-gooder Hermione Granger having as her first thought when in trouble, Flooing Mordecai Jones. It is insane and endearing all at once. And the nickname Tidbit is kind of precious, even though he didn't mean it to be.The knife wielding house-elf gave me a laugh. And just what is the tall dark figure going to think of the couple in front of him? I'll just say that I am glad I didn't start this until it was finished.

Thanks for the lovely, thoughtful comments. I actually really liked Mordecai. In my head I picture him like a bad guy but a bit along the lines of the dread pirate Roberts--you know he lives by his evil reputation but he really doesn't have to do too much out right badness anymore. LOL! I too loved the visual of sukie standing guard with a butcher knife. It cracked me up too!

It's interesting that Hermione is the one of the couple who thinks that the other would want to keep their relationship a secret.I really felt bad for Lucius, hearing all that he missed while locked away. Especially with regards to Draco. Fortunately, that is easily remedied. I hope, anyway.

I think even though she wants to believe that he's really changed, there is a little part of her that worries that deep down the Muggleborn issue might still be a factor.
Response from HBAR (Reviewer)
Good point. I think you've changed him so convincingly that I am operating without a doubt that he is over all that blood status nonsense, and it hadn't occurred to me that she might be more reserved than I, as the reader am.

Well, that was unexpected, but certainly not unwelcome. I don't typically care for Lucius, but you are making it very hard for me to dislike him. I kind of wanted to worm my way in for a cuddle, too. I do hope Hermione's plan works and that she kicks some Ministry ass.

I'm glad I might be converting you over ot Lucius' side even if just a little. :)

I am completely creeped out by Lucius' living arrangements. How the mighty have fallen, indeed. I hope she doesn't let him stay there. *shudders*I wonder what happened at the Ministry that has him so worked up?
Response from magalena (Author of The Librarian's Assistant)
I'd be creeped out too! I think Hermione will insist on different arrangements. ;)

What a great start! Things aren't great for Lucius, but with Harry and Hermione on board, they are starting to look up. I do hope he has truly changed. I always have a hard time believing a relationship between Lucius and Hermione- romantic or friendly- because of their history. But if he really has reformed, she is not above giving second chances. And just what sort of relationship does she have with Severus? Draco?Moving on ...

Thanks for reading and commenting, I do hope you like the rest of the story. I like my Lucius to be reformed.m ;)

Very much enjoyed this! Thank you for sharing and for making Lucius a sympathetic character. ;)...an insufferably sexy one, at that...
